Guest guest Posted September 21, 2002 Report Share Posted September 21, 2002 I made a variation of 's Kale/Oyster Soup for which the original recipe is in this post: /message/4563 Here's the variation: 8 oz can plain uncooked oysters and liquid (Geisha makes one brand) 1/2 large can of V-8 juice or generic brand vegetable juice 3 or 4 dried shiitake mushrooms 3 cups kale (or as much or as little kale as you have on hand) 1/2 sheet Nori tps of olive oil (to help lycopene absorption from the V-8 juice) Simmer oysters, oyster liquid in can , V-8 juice, mushrooms, kale and nori about 5 minutes past boiling point or til kale and oysters are cooked. I also happened to make steamed asparagus and dumped the liquid from the asparagus into the soup as well. Both the original recipe and the variation are delicious.
