Guest guest
To those who are thinking of trying guar, there are some harmless, but annoying side effects of consuming lots of guar ( and most of us guar lovers do eat a lot of it- it's habit forming). At least for myself- it causes lots of gas, as it's high fiber. Although I was told the gas problem would abate after a while, it hasn't. So I use " beano " . As I've often recommended to newbies who start to try eating lots of veggies and find that the added fiber that their body isn't used to causes excess intestinal gas, beano really works. So that problem is solvable. The second problem is caused by the consumption of lots of liquid (guar pudding is mostly water). This of course leads to many potty breaks. So if I'm going to be away from a bathroom, such as during a long car ride, I cut way down on my guar consumption beforehand.
