Fructose?

I notice that people frequently talk about using artificial sweetners

on this list. I was wondering how often people choose to use pure

fructose as an alternate sweetener?

It's about 30% - 50% sweeter than table sugar (so you can use less of

it -- same sweetness for fewer calories), and it's really low on the

glycemic index, according to " The 120 Year Diet Plan " and other

sources.

I have two recipes I'm not sure how to make without some sort of

sweetener: One is lemonade (which I drink infrequently, but it is a

treat), and the other is a favorite, otherwise-wholesome

oatmeal/mixed-nut cookie recipe.

I know that sweeteners are still, in a sense, empty calories, but so

is alcohol, and it seems many CRONies still drink an occasional glass

of wine or other liquor.

Hello Steve,

Sucralose has zero calories, and it is non-glycating.

Fructose does not raise blood sugar rapidly, but fructose

is 10 times more lethal and dangerous than regular sugar

for causing glycation in the human tissues (sugaring of

the body proteins -- very bad).

Sucralose of course, does neither. It is inert, has

no calories, and is completely non-glycating.
