Guest guest Posted August 28, 2002 Report Share Posted August 28, 2002 Hi folks...yeah, I agree that canned salmon has a very high yuck-factor, right up there with canned mackerel IMO. Even canned tuna reminds me of Little Friskies. My solution has been to stock the freezer. Both Trader Joe's and Costco sell salmon that has been flash-frozen and shrink-wrapped almost immediately after its caught. In most instances, these frozen filets honestly taste better to me than fish which is delivered fresh to the market. The frozen albacore tuna from Trader Joe's is very good. They're almost as convenient as canned, and once cooked, cold leftovers are lovely on salads the next day. (Geez, I sound just like Martha ! Can't you picture HER eating a can of mackerel?)
