Guest guest
I know that this is an ongoing topic of discussion, and Lucy does not say how much overweight her brother is, or how fast he is losing. But let's not forget that 1) men tend to lose weight faster than women in general (drat!) and 2) serious overweight carries its own risks that would best be remedied sooner rather than later. I have seen people with absolutely atrocious eating habits that lost weight dramatically by correcting those habits, even if they continue for a time to consume a larger than desirable number of calories. I mean, if they give up a case of beer a night :-) , or an extra double bacon cheeseburger a day, and lose weight rapidly, are you going to tell them to go eat more? If he were approaching his minimum weight goal at breakneck speed, then there would be cause for serious concern, otherwise, I wouldn't get too jazzed about it - unless he's doing something truly unsustainable, in which case it's not the rate of loss I would be concerned about, but his commitment to a lifelong change.
