Kefir: Am I weird or what??

I just tasted my first swig of " kefir " ; bought the plain by Lifeway at my

local Fresh Fields and cautiously tried a teeny amount (keeping in mind

Suz's recent account of wondering if she would live to tell the group her

tale).

Was I surprised!! If I'm not mistaken this is the same stuff called " sour

milk " sold in the delicatessens of New York, lower east side, which I

relished as a kid. I loved it then and I love it now. I love it plain. Am

I right? Is this nothing more than good ol' sour milk now " dressed up " and

adorned as kefir?
