Guest guest
Francesca - good idea to make a list. here is a little more info on the program I use Dietpower is for windows only It costs about $50 You can trial it for free for two weeks and extend the trial if you want. At the end of 2 weeks the program just stops working if you don't buy it. Can download from web site or have them send you a CD rom Multiple users per household (up to 9). Can be loaded onto a 2nd computer e.g. at work and data can be transferred from work to home computer each day via a floppy disk. Tracks up to 3 personal goals, eg glucose level, cholesterol, weight loss, any type of goal as long as it can be entered as a decimal number. Tracks your metabolic activity. Graphs your weight loss or weight gain or nutrient intake. Allows you to input exercise and adjusts metabolic rate accordingly. Advantages: you don't have to go on line to use it. Disadvantages: It is mainly designed for weight tracking so will adjust your allowed calorie intake each day to maintain your weight goals. CRONIES are often more interested in reaching a certain calorie intake each day so they would have to ignore the program's recommended calorie intake. Please let me know either on or off list of any others; if they're free; suitable for both Macs and PC's or any pertinent info; so far: DWIDP FitDay.com RealAge Food Evaluator dietpower.com
Guest guest
Maybe it is too complicated for most people, but if you are fairly good with computers and have Microsoft Office, my freeware CR Buddy program has been very useful for me. You could add it to your list if you want. cr-buddy/ Since it relies on Microsoft Office (Excel), I know that it will work on PCs, but I haven't found anyone that has gotten it to work completely with Mac Excel.
