Guest guest
Hi Suz and All, I am taking risedroate/Actonel 30mg/week after fosamax gave GI problems. It did wonders. But as far as taking ca++, if it is low the drug cannot put it into the bones. The drug does not go into bones, the Ca++ does. It is good to take the Ca++ soon after the risedronate so bones can be built. Cheers, Al.

On a scale of 1-5 with 1 being good and 5 being urgent, mine is past 5. But I can't ruin my esophagus with the Actonel. Nina
Guest guest
I had a bone density test done in November and the results were normal. I guess this prescription is for preventive? Not looking forward to taking it just by reading the directions...ugggh! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Maggie http://www.4HockeyFans.com http://www.4FloridaHockey.com MSN: Maggies1429 AOL: Maggies85 dbargad@... wrote: My RD did a bone density and my hips and back are bad. I was not aware it is just as a preventive because it actually helps build the bone mass back up. You might want to do a google search on it and see what it says. Guest guest
Hi all, My GP wanted to put me on Actonet as a preventative even thought my DEXA tests were normal. It made me very nauseous. My rheumy told me just to increase my calcium (with whole, organic milk) rather than add another med to my body. Guest guest
I think in addition to the calcium you need to take Vitamin D so that the calcium is assimilated better. I have also heard that some magnesium is needed but I don't know about that. God bless. ----- Original Message ----- From: Nina Rheumatoid Arthritis Sent: Wednesday, June 22, 2005 10:55 AM Subject: Re: Actonel ----- Original Message -----From: "Maggie" <meshouse@...>> I had a bone density test done in November and the results were normal. Guest guest
There's a new drug that's only been out for a couple of months that is supposed to do the same thing as Actonel or Fosomax but is a once a month drug. I have no idea what it's like but my rheumatologist mentioned it today. I was not interested since my Fosomax seems to be working OK. God bless. ----- Original Message ----- From: Nina Rheumatoid Arthritis Sent: Wednesday, June 22, 2005 9:22 AM Subject: Re: Actonel ----- Original Message -----From: <dbargad@...>> My RD did a bone density and my hips and back are bad.
