Guest guest
Francesca, according to my DietPower software, 4 brazil nuts provide 480 micrograms of selenium, or 872% of the RDA. (That's 108 calories, btw.) Here's what DietPower "Help" says about Selenium: In April 2000 the IOM established the first Tolerable Upper Intake Level (UL) for selenium at 400 micrograms per day. Getting more than the UL may trigger a toxic reaction called selenosis, marked by hair loss and fingernail and toenail damage.
