Guest guest
"I know most of you are thinking right now that this has to be a coincidence but I remember 5 years ago or so the very same thing happened after trying to start a healthier lifestyle." Yep. Coincidence. Reminds me of the first ten or twelve times I tried to quit drinking. (There was something about AA meetings that made me throw-up, LITERALLY!) I've also seen many people (who rarely get sick) become ill soon after commencing a new exercise program. It's almost as if the body wants to defend itself against change. (Change IS stressful.) My suggestion to you would be to ride out your head cold, and then to whole-heartedly try again. Also, you might want to give some deep thought to whatever anxieties you are harboring regarding your intended lifestyle change. Getting sick is a pretty effective knee-jerk reaction to change. Others will disagree with me, but I don't believe that CR is an easy road. It's difficult. I'm probably OFF the road as much as I'm on it, but I think the effort is good for me. Certainly I eat less and eat more healthfully than if I didn't keep trying! Anyway, my guess is that you'll get over your cold, try again, and will soon be feeling better than ever. It won't hurt to try. And for what it's worth, I think it's ok to catch a few bugs along the way. Isn't that how we develop resistance to such stuff?
