SPEAKERS

Dr. Shaw

Received a Ph.D. in Biochemistry and Human Physiology from the Medical

University of South Carolina. He is Board Certified in the fields of

Clinical Chemistry and Toxicology by the American Board of Clinical

Chemistry. He worked with the Center for Disease Control (CDC) and

Kline Laboratories in Atlanta. He supervised the following departments while

employed by the Center for Disease Control: Endocrinology, Nutritional

Biochemistry,

Toxicology and Immunology.

He was Director of Clinical Chemistry, Endocrinology and Toxicology at

Children's Mercy Hospital (teaching hospital of the University of Missouri

at Kansas City School of Medicine). Dr. Shaw is now the Director of The

Great Plains Laboratory for Health, Nutrition and Metabolism in Lenexa,

Kansas specializing in urine metabolic testing for autism spectrum

disorders. He is author of ³Biological Treatments for Autism and PDD² and is

a frequent speaker at autism conferences worldwide. He is the stepfather of

a child with autism and has helped thousands of parents and physicians

successfully contribute to improving the lives of autistic children.

Dr. Boyd Haley

Received a doctorate in Chemistry/Biochemistry at Washington State

University. He was an NIH Postdoctoral Scholar in the Department of

Physiology, Yale University Medical School from 1971 to 1974. He has been a

professor and Chairman of the Department of Chemistry at the University of

Kentucky since 1996. Recently, Dr. Haley has testified before numerous

government agencies on the effects of mercury toxicity from dental amalgams

and vaccines. He was one of the first researchers to propose that the

preservative Thimerosal in infant vaccines was the most likely toxic agent

involved in Gulf War Syndrome and autism related disorders. He has shown

using mercury analysis of birth-hair that autistics represent a subset of

the population that cannot excrete mercury effectively. Dr. Haley is also

co-founder and scientific advisor of Affinity Labeling Technologies, Inc., a

biotech company that synthesizes and markets to major research institutes

nucleotide photoaffinity analogs for biomedical research.

Dr. Haley is a member of the Autism Think Tank of the Autism Association and

has been invited to present lectures on the subject of mercury toxicity and

neurological diseases at international conferences in 12 different

countries.

Jeff Bradstreet, MD

is the Founder and Director of Clinical Programs, ICDRC (The International

Child Development Resource Center) a 501c3 not-for-profit. He is the

President of Creation¹s Own, Inc, a health care and nutriceutical

developmental disorders for several years. He is also the Director of the

Child Development Center at Florida Hospital Celebration.

Dr. Bradstreet is a Fellow of the American Academy of Family Physicians, and

received his training at the University of South Florida and Wilford Hall

USAF Medical Center. He is also the father of a child recovered from autism.

He has presented his findings and original research on autism to the US

Congress, the National Academies of Science, the Institute of Medicine and

at various symposia around the world. His practice is featured in the new

PBS

documentary about children recovered from autism, " Finding the Words.²

Dr. Kurt Woeller

Medical Director for Stillpoint Center of Integrative Health in Temecula,

California. He is an osteopathic physician specializing in natural and

complimentary medicine. Since 1997 Dr. Woeller has been a referral doctor

for DAN! (Defeat Autism Now) which is an organization of physicians

dedicated to treating biological causes of autisticspectrum disorders. Much

of his practice is dedicated to helping children suffering with an

autistic-spectrum

disorder, optimize their potential and recover their health.

Dr. Woeller has been interviewed on radio (KPBS and KCBQ), as well as on

television (PBS' ³Full Focus²) regarding the topic of biomedical factors

related to autism. He is available for lectures to discuss this very

important topic of autism. You can hear his radio interview by connecting to

www.mystillpoint.com. You can also read about his approach to helping

children who are suffering with autistic-spectrum disorder at

www.mystillpoint.com.

Lori Knowles

Mother of four children, with her youngest son receiving a diagnosis of

autism at the age of 2.5 years. After her early intervention speech

therapist gave her a copy of Dr. Shaw's " Biological Treatments for Autism

and PDD " , she began aggressively seeking all possible interventions that

could help her child. After extensive research and

personal experience, she has become very knowledgeable about the role that

different therapies had in helping her son recover from autism.

Lori is able to utilize her knowledge and experience in her position as

Manager of New Beginnings Nutritionals, a company that provides specialized

nutritional supplements to children with autism. She enjoys supporting

physicians and parents who are seeking to improve the lives of children in

their care. She will share her journey

and the most important treatments that have contributed to her son's

recovery for the purpose of educating and inspiring others to have hope and

to make a difference.
