Can you drink beer while on the CRON diet? I do enjoy drinking a

good beer and try to keep it at a minimum. Is this bad? If not, how

much is too much?

Thanks in advance.

Gee Neil, the more I CRON the more beer I drink....takes my mind off of my old roommates Ben and Jerry, who left in a huff, when I told them they could only come out of their rooms once a year! A Coors light (the only beer ~ right?) has about 99 calories per 12 oz and provides a dose of riboflavin, niacin, B6, folic acid, B12, Panot acid, Panto., magnesium, copper, manganese, selenium, water and of course the added benefit of not really caring much about any of these nutrients after three or four servings! When you get hungry and don't feel like eating Suz's latest Kale recipe, pop open that silver bullet and relax! You can trade about 2.5 cups of boiled kale in for on beer and get the same calories...which sounds better to you? :-)) (OK, since you don't know me, I am actually not a drinker and the beer calories are a little expensive in terms of nutrition per calorie, but hey you gotta enjoy those added 20 years of life IMHO) Dave Noel

Better to enjoy them with a glass of red wine. Luckily for you " drinkers " ,

mild to moderate alcohol intake is considered health promoting (Roy's own

words on pg 222 of " Beyond " ) ESPECIALLY in the form of red wine.

Unfortunately he goes on to say: " however alcohol does equate to empty

calories .......so be moderate...... Stick generally to red wine.....

So Neil at about 114 calories for an 8 oz glass, those glasses of beer

really can add up........
