Guest guest
It would help if you posted your hair test results. High copper can often be handled with zinc and molybdenum. My son's high copper has effectively been reduced by eliminating all possible sources of exposure (we moved him to reverse osmosis water from our regular water) and giving him 1000 mgs of molybdenum and 50 mgs zine, each divided into three doses daily. I am no expert in copper, but you might consider looking in the Onibasu archives at other discussions regarding copper. Go to www.onibasu.com, click on the box for Autism_Mercury and put in a search string. I would look for " copper " and " andrewhallcutler " for starters and see where you end up. That might give you more insight into your particular situation. Guest guest
Hi Janice and Janey, Will you reply online Janice ? I had very high copper 6 years ago and didn't know it was a problem. I have just redone the hair test and am waiting for results. Guest guest
FYI: I was able to greatly reduce my son's copper load (results showing both on DDI hair tests and bloodwork) by increasing zinc and adding only 100 mcg/day of molybdenum. His DDI hair copper was in the red (over), but not off the charts. His serum copper was also fairly elevated, but not dangerously so. Within 4 months, the DDI test showed copper in the green (over)and bloodwork had copper within the normal range. It remained that way 4 additional months later. He is also mercury toxic. I've been using ALA for 4 rounds. Guest guest
Hi there: Our son was really high copper as well and continued to be until we began chelation. We also had to go on a Eidon Zinc and then we also tried H2O minerals zinc. My son just had too many issues with all the preservatives in the other brands. The other thing was eliminating Soy completely. If you search for 's disease on google, you'll get a diet that patients with that disease need to follow. We eliminated those foods for awhile and along with chelation and supplementation were able to bring the copper/zinc ratio to as close to 1:1 as I think we'll ever get. Guest guest
Ignorant question: what test gives copper levels in cu? Blood? Hair? Urine? Some tests just do not accurately represent body burden of metals, elements, nutrients, etc. Thanks! Pam p.s. We had high copper in DDI hair tests and serum. I've been told the serum test is not relevant. Packed erythrocytes showed copper in the normal range. I was able to get Ian's copper on the hair and serum down within normal ranges with molybdenum and zinc (and not mega doses, either). > > HELLO, > i have a question on copper in the body. my daughts results of > copper in the body are high (145cu). i just wanted to know if there is > anything other than what i have to on that would help lower them. i > have her on a gluten, casein-free diet. i did a detox for metal to > start with for 2 mons. she also is on MB12 shots,DMG,vitamin C (asorbic > acid),Pyridoxal(Vitamin B-6),Pyridoxal-5-Phospate,Biotin,Magnesium > Glycinate,Nordic Natural Cod Liver Oil, Zinc Picolinate,Vitamin > E,Molybdenum,Iron and MTPII. if anyone have input on copper i would > love to know thanks > stephanie >

Guest guest
I guess I'm not sure how Pfeiffer does their tests... I hope someone here with Pfeiffer experience can join in on the conversation. How concerned was Pfeiffer with the results? Just dawned on me: You thought I was calling YOUR question ignorant! Ooops. Sometimes I type like I assume others know what I am thinking.
