Guest guest
> Dear Cronies: > > One reason I passed on the Aspartame email is that my ex-girlfriend--who sent it to me--has suffered from some disturbing symptoms shortly after consuming some aspartame. I've asked her what her doctor said, and haven't heard back from her yet (she's a nurse, for what that's worth). I've chosen to stop using all artificial sweeteners for the foreseeable future. > > yours, > Hi all. Yes i went to the urban ledgend site. " pro and con " . I have also seen, on the net, referals to sites that really make this stuff sound dangerious: i read many of these site's info. But the best " info " was my own body!! There was a time, about 15 years ago, when i took care of my sister's estate, and i had to sort out her stuff in a warehouse. This project took me all summer. For a break in the afternoon, I would walk down to the soda machine and buy a can of Nutrasweetened soda and take it back to the warehouse and drink most of it: about four to six cans a week. I never did like the taste, but i soldered on, thinking that the lack of 'sugar', for health reasons, overrode the taste. It was that period that i would get, at times, " spacey " and dizzy! Flouresent lights often triggered this. I thought, at the time, that this might have been the altitiude of the city, or the coffee i drunk. Interesting: this went away soon after i stopped drinking Aspertainic drinks---omeniously, this did not cease RIGHT AWAY! Took months to go away! now....I am in the belief that Aspertame caused this dizzyness: some affect on my brain/nervious system! There is added danger, i feel, to " cronies " with this stuff!! even then, back 15 years ago, i only weighed about 140 on a six foot two frame. What i am saying....is that for someone who weighs less, one can of soda, for ME, would be " worth " about FOUR CANS of soda for a person who weighs, say, 220 lbs!! I can only comfortably drink about a little over half of one can, now! More than that...the sugar affects me a bit, at my 135 lbs. Thus anyone who weighs less than the " norm " ......*any* medication, drug, or " herbal compound " will have a much much greater affect for that reason alone: less body-mass compared to doseage. Thus anyone who is underweight would have to compensate for dose-size, as these dose sizes might have been optimized for a " normal weighted " person! Imagine a cat eating just ONE asprin?! or a baby! Today, if i want sugar i eat sugar! no Aspertame or other artifical sweetener! Even a little bit of this stuff, for me, would be equivalent to a large dose to someone who weighs, say, 190 lbs! freestone
