Guest guest
a: Our little girl was just as seriously anorexic as you describe here. She was so thin you could easily make out each rib. She ate practically nothing, except for ice cream. Zinc helped (within the first 2 days), immensely, made her hungry as did plain probiotics such as acidophilus. I have heard parents say that enzymes make them hungry, makes sense to me. But chelation was the big key as 5 months after we started chelation, she actually asked for some food and my daughter ran for the video cam. She now has a normal appetite, but it took a combination of the zinc, probiotics and chelation to make it go away permanently. I can't help with the speech, but I do know how worrisome the no appetite thing is, and IMO, this needs corrected asap. Good luck, [ ] Help, suggestions - Dana your input especially.... I hope you guys can help with what to do. My mother hooked me up with an ex-coworker, because the lady has an autistic daughter my mom was hoping I could help with. The girl is 6 years old. Here is some background on her; Lost language around 2, and never regained any. Mom can not mark it with vaccines, however, mom feels it probably was what caused it. She is totally non-verbal, poor eye contact, well behaved, however, she can be a screamer and a whiner, especially when things don't go her way. She is profoundly autistic according to her mother. Here's the biggest issue. She does not eat. I mean, she has no interest in food. Her mother has to battle her daily to even take bites of food. For a period of time she lived on hot pockets and mac and cheese, now it is rare to get her to even eat. She is 3'4 " tall and only weighs 31 lbs!!! She is on Super Nu thera, liquid. She will not swallow pills at all. Her mother bought enzymes for her through Houstonni, which she is able to get into her. Since starting the enzymes 10 days ago, the battle over food has increased. She could not see trying a gfcf diet, so I suggested the enzymes. She is very interested in pursuing chelation and any other alternative therapy. I'm turning to you guys for help with this, specifically those of you who have dealt with severe eating issues and the pill swallowing issues. What other chelation forms would work, etc? Mom is interested in finding a doctor who will work with her, but is not willing to pay $$ through Pfeiffer clinic, etc. There are two dan doctors near her; Grayslake IL Dr. Hicks, and Springfield IL, Dr. Georgia , however, money is a huge factor. This family does not have it. This poor girl even has a totally depressing school experience on top of all of this. She is in a life skills class, no speech, no OT, nothing. No attempt at getting her to communicate, nothing. Mom has tried PECS, but she was resistant. I hope I'll be able to help her with school, and what she needs to get implemented for her daughter. What to do, and how to do it??? Where would all of you start? was so much different than this little girl. I at least had a child with speech, and not as severe eating issues. has never been anything but moderately to mildly affected with autism. My worst battle was behavior. Today at 9 I have a son who will do laundry, with no incentives. This little girl is the opposite of my son. Mom is very stressed out and feeling like a failure, so this is pretty urgent in my opinion. She has reached the end of her rope. It is starting to affect her in a major negative way. I know how to empathize with her, because 's behavior drove me to a similar point in my life. You know, the point where you start not wanting to be around your very own child who you love. I think mom just has no light at the end of the tunnel; too many negatives, not enough positives. Guest guest
a: I could not find your original post so I am replying to this one. First, where does your friend live? I ask because I live in the town next to Grayslake, and Dr. Hicks is no longer there. The closest is in his office in Lake Delevan, WI. But, if she is close by, I could certainly try to help...go over and talk to her? I have a BOAT LOAD of supplements that I no longer use...brainchild minerals/vits still in the fridge, maybe something can help? I would also be willing to give her some of our TD-ALA and maybe she can see if that help? Let me know where she is located, you can e-mail me privately if you want...or here too. I dont know how to " make " someone want to eat, believe me, if I did...I would get my daughter and son to eat more. They are SO thin, I cant stand it either.
