Guest guest
as the newest member. I'm 54 yo, female, 5'8 " . I zoomed from my regular 128 to 188 lbs ( & 44% body fat) in a two-year period following 2 surgeries for breast cancer (Jan 97), radiation therapy (Apr 97) and menopause... Since I'm past the 5 yr point, I can breathe a little easier, and actually plan to live longer... Well, time to get things back in order! And I hate diets! No point to change temporarily ... Gotta do the lifestyle change to have lasting effects... Yes, I've read Beyond the 120 yr diet, and am just starting the Anti-Aging Plan... I'm trying to add at least two new recipes a week from the 120 yr diet... I'm in the greater Washington DC area, and very blessed with both organic/health food stores (i.e. Fresh Fields) and ethnic groceries, so I can get almost anything I want! And I've ordered Dr. Walford's software... I don't have any questions at this point, but I may have some once I get the software and can really start tracking my intake precisely. One serious victory was renegotiating my contract to allow me to work from home instead of commuting 100 mi a day to DC... As of 1 October, I'm working from home 3 days a week - much better control of diet & environment that way! I'm back to the daily exercise routine I had while I was in the military... and my dog, Rocky, is loving that! We take a 2-4 mile walk cross country at a steeplechase facility out in horse country, and he gets to chase the foxes while I get to clear my head & lungs! I've read several messages in the archives, and most of the recipes in the files section - you guys really impress me! I'm delighted that you're a group of intelligent, far-sighted folks who offer one another mutual support. I'm sure that I could not be in any better company than yours. More later! Marsha p.s. Chasiph - Hebrew - little flocks, kind of like a group...
