Guest guest
Adam: welcome aboard. I wish I had been as smart at your age. What's your weight and how tall are you? Are you heavy or thin? Start with just the Optimal Nutrition part of CRON. Our file: " CR Made Easy " should get you started. Ease in slowly. At your age, you have plenty of time. You'd be surprised how many doctors are receptive to the standard blood tests and the fasting glucose that you'll be requesting. Mine was and he's very pleased with my cholesterol levels, BP and other good stuff as a result. If you want a different doctor, try the Life Extension (LEF) Magazine website. They used to have a doctor's list. Many of our members lift weights and are experts. I'm sure they'll pipe up. Sounds like in a few years, you'll be the one teaching the rest of us a thing or two! on 9/3/2002 1:49 PM, accidentalorganism at ajspong@... wrote: > Hi > I've just decided to go on a CRON diet. > My name is Adam and I'm 21. > I read one of Dr. Walford's books 3 or 4 years ago and I've been > interested in starting the diet for some time. They used to have a doctor's list. ------Thanks Francesca. Can anyone tell me more about this? What have your experiences been like when working with doctors to plan a CRON diet? Specifically, have you gone to specialists or perhaps doctors who are already interested in life extension, what tests have you had, and how much can I expect to pay for these tests!?! Also, thanks to those who responded about weight lifting and creatine. I'm definitely going to continue to work out and to eat a fairly high-protein diet, and I was expecting to stop taking creatine anyway, since the extra calories are significant and the benefits are marginal. > What's your > weight and how tall are you? Are you heavy or thin? ------I'm 6' and thin, about 165.
Guest guest
Walford describes extensive tests you can have done in BT120YD starting on pg 35. But most of us keep it simple such as: white blood count, blood lipids, blood pressure and of course the ones you can monitor yourself such as weight, and the others in BT120YD that you can do yourself. There is also an extensive battery of tests discussion at: http://www.calorierestriction.org/our_studies/bloodtests.htm on 9/5/2002 3:55 PM, accidentalorganism at ajspong@... wrote: > what tests have > you had, and how much can I expect to pay for these tests!?!
