Hello

And welcome. I am new to the list, and just recently found out about

CRONing. 2 years ago, I weighed over 360 lbs. I am 37, and 6' tall.

I weighed 185 when I got out of the Army in 1987.

I decided to get back into shape. I did my own plan, which resembled CRON.

I became a vegan, ate as healthy as I could, cut my calories back

dramatically, and started exercising 3 - 5 hrs/day, every day. I lost 130

lbs. in 7 months. At that point I got stuck on a plateau, and couldn't lose

another lb. All the time, and especially during the time on the plateau I

read all I could on diet, weight loss, exercise, health, and fitness. There

was so much contradictory stuff, and plain obvious BS out there it got

frustrating. I finally found CRON, and was easily convinced. It just

intuitively made sense to me. I started exercising less, and cut back my

calories more, and made those calories even more nutrient dense. I also

added skim milk, egg whites, and fish to my diet. Since then, I have lost 8

lbs.

Some things that helped me: Going cold turkey on bad food. I don't eat any

white flour, sugar or rice, no cookies, potato chips, donuts etc.

Setting firm cutoff time for eating in the evening. At first, it was 8, now

it's 6:30. No eating after that time.

Not eating unless I am really really hungry (and trying to learn to enjoy

the hunger)
