Jammer: You have to make sure it says " brown " rice. Wild rice is also Ok.

I do buy the brown " quick cook " rice . Ten minutes to make. You can also

use other whole grains - cous cous, for example is delicious; or whole wheat

pasta.

You can buy canned beans pre-cooked but anything in a can has a lot of salt

so rinse them thoroughly to wash off some of the salt. I make some Mexican

dishes with no fat, canned refried beans. There's a good main dish in the

files called " Mexican Delight " - very easy to make.
