Guest guest
What is psuedophedrine? Maybe my little guy has been sneaking some? :-) Like Marty suggested, it isn't really true stuttering, as in can't get the sound together. I am just so confused about what I am supposed to be doing now! I guess at a minimum check his blood, keep the basics in place, support organs. Then get prepped for another round. I am really at a loss! He was great on round, didn't see too much like we used to when it seemed like he was sulfur driven, but good spirits all around and easy as pie. Now this! AAAARRRRGGGGHHHH! I get that if I take pseudophedrine. > > I think Dana posted on one of her kids doing that. Maybe she will respond. > > > >
Guest guest
Pseudoephedrine is in lots of cold medications like NyQuil and is the main ingredient in Sudafed. The nasal decongestant. The last time I took a full adult dose of NyQuil (1980s), my heart started pounding and my pupils dilated and fixed for about an hour. VERY unsettling experience! It can really amp some people up; make them quite agitated. I agree that repeating the same word over and over is not true stuttering. My daughter spoke like this as a young toddler; right before she had a HUGE language explosion. It was if she just couldn't get the words out as fast as her thoughts. In an NT 2 year old this is adorable; in an older ASD child this can be worrisome, I know. Perhaps that will happen to you? Guest guest
Thanks for the cold medication lesson! I so rarely get sick that I don't have occasion to use any of that stuff. My gut is telling me my little monster is kind of on the verge of something. Just hope it is something good!
