Making Kefir from skim milk

I have been using no fat skim milk for awhile and it works just

fine. The first week I used regular milk. These first few batches

are high in yeast content and not drinkable. After four or five

batches you can start consuming the kefir and that's when I switched

over to skim milk.

Lots of people on the other sites claim you have to use glass

containers but I got two wide mouth plastic containers at Target and

they work just fine.

As for sprouts I do not " disinfect " them at all and my sprouts turn

out fine. You just need to rinse them good once or twice daily.
