Most people here woud not advocate the withholding of minerals for any time. In

fact the contrary, the advice is to give all minerals, especially zinc and

magnesium 3-4 hours a day.

Also, IMO, not recommended is an 8 hour schedule for anything else but oral or

td dmps. Dmsa has to be given every 4 hours day and night, ala every 3,

day/night. Giving either dmsa or ala less frequently than recommended can cause

redistribution and make a mercury poisoned person worse and a child more

autistic. Take some time and really do some research on this area for yourself.

If the dr recommends that and you are going to follow it, perhaps he has a way

worked out to do it.

[ ] How to give cal/mag/zinc while on a 4-hour schedule

Hi,

I could use some help understanding the various views on giving minerals

while chelating.

I just spoke to a new DAN doc that I may well be using from now on and the

subject of minerals came up. They advocate giving minerals every 12-hours

while chelating. They also recommend chelating on an 8-hour schedule. If I

switch to them, they will likely want us to switch to one of the transdermal

chelators. I am now using oral DMSA.

My problem, for now, is the logistics of how to give 2000/1000/130 mg of

Cal/Mag/Zinc while on the four-hour schedule. The problem is that the

supplement is dosed so that you have to give 8 capsules in order to get to

our dosage. I give two capsules at a time so as not to go over 500mg of

calcium at a time, since the body doesn't absorb more than that at any one

time. I've been giving them an hour before giving the DMSA. Is that OK? Is

there a better way of doing this?

One last detail, I am down to this particular brand, due to my daughter's

intolerance to so many things.

Thanks for any guidance you guys can give.
