Guest guest
I would recommend that you check out this site. www.tacanow.com Things you should strongly consider... Gluten Free / Casein (that's all dairy) free and soy free diet OR SCD (specific carboyhdrate diet) M B-12 shots And you'll definitely want to do some testing, and see if he has yeast or bacteria. Probiotics Cod Liver Oil Basic Vitamin and Mineral Supplements This is just a starting list! By the way, the symptoms your son has are pretty much exactly what my son had. We didn't get an autism diagnosis till he was 7. He was my first child too and didn't start standing out from his peers until kindergarten. Guest guest
I am new to the group to, but have a 6 yo with autism and have recently decided to go down this path with . Mostly the reason is Kirby's Evidence of Harm. Here is a table taken out of Kirby's evidence of harm: I have been reading Evidence of Harm by Kirby and I found this table put together by Amy Holmes, She conducted a study compiling data on kids with autism who had chelation therapy for four months. Age 1-5 35% showed marked improvement 39% Moderate 15% slight and 11% none 6-12 4% marked improvement 28% Moderate 52%slight and 16% none 13-17 0% marked 6% moderate 68% slight and 26% none 18 +0%marked 0% moderate 25% slight 75% none My son is 6. I am seriously considering chelation at this time. So we will both have a chance of 33% moderate improvement. This book really was a hard read. It was good though. I think everybody especially affected families should read it. This book really was a hard read. It really outlines that in many ways that mercury poison=autism. I find it terribly ironic that as rates in California are dropping since removing thimerasol from the vaccines the (http://www.aapsonline.org/press/nr-03-02-2006.php) the CDC and the FDA have the guts to authorize Thimerasol flu vaccinations for use in young kids this season! If this was a infectious desease, and the rates had went from 1 in 10,000 to 1 in 166 we'd have military in the streets. As it is Autism makes up .33% of the NIH budget. > > Hi to everone, > > I'm a mother of a six year old son with Asperger's. Guest guest
What I would do would be to first get a hair test to see what is going on there. Essential Fatty Acids are very important. Probiotics are as well, especially if there is a history of antibiotic use. B-12 is great, you can get it in chewables or shots. Chewables are easily available, shots require Rx. B-6 was also an important one for us. Digestive enzymes would also be great to try out. What kind of diet does your son like? Does he crave certain foods, avoid certain ones...picky with what he will eat? I would also look into a good multivitamin, really good quality. There are a ton of different supplements but you can't start them all in one day. These would be my starting ones and then see what he does well with and what his needs are. A hair test will show a lot. That is very important. What is also very important is the chelation protocol you are using. How much does your son weigh, how much DMSA are you giving and how often??? Are you seeing results? DMSA is a good starting point. ALA will be needed at some point, there is time for that though. You are in a great place for help. I have been doing biomed for 4 years now. My son was diagnosed at age two and is now almost 6 1/2. Please ask questions. It is easy to get overwhelmed and a very normal reaction! There is probably dozens of topics/supplements being discussed at any given time. Stick around and read...read...read. Soon you will be a pro!!! Wishing your son tremendous gains!! dinoheal <dinoheal@...> wrote: Hi to everone, I'm a mother of a six year old son with Asperger's. I recently started him on an oral DMSA chelation treatment with the help of a Dan doctor. However, based on my research there are so many things to try that I'm getting overwhelmed and don't know what is best for him. I would like to know about similar cases and what course of action has worked better for you. I'd really appreciate any input on this matter. A million thanks, =======================================================
