Guest guest
Sodium - How much do we need to restrict it if we don't have high blood pressure? Does excess sodium in the diet cause other problems? Even being overweight, my BP ranges around 100/70, and I eat quite a bit of salt. I don't have any edema. When I was thin my doctor advised me to eat extra salt to prevent dizziness, because my BP was extremely low then. Is it even possible for a very thin person on CR (and who has never smoked) to have high blood pressure? Note of interest: My parents ate the same diet and had about the same BMI - my mother battled dangerously high BP for a lot of her life, but my father's was always low, like mine. Thanks - I know you'll give me good answers! Dot
Guest guest
My understanding is that only some people are sensitive to too much salt. Several individuals have reported negative effects from not getting enough. While not common, it should be possible for thin, CR'd individuals to have high blood pressure, just like you were able to have low blood pressure while over weight.
