Dana, those are the first pics I've seen of your kids -- they are

PRECIOUS!!! What cuties!!! They look so involved, really

connected, totally thriving. I feel happy just looking at them!

Hi Dana,

Wow I swear you were put on this earth to be one step ahead of the

exact current needs of my kids. Thank you and congratulations on

things :)

I don't know if this will help because it does have 10% of Calcium

and Mag. but we are using it (as I also give Mag. separately):

Plus, this version is CHEWABLE, my new favorite thing. Have you

attempted to teach pill swallowing? I am having it written into my

son's new IEP.

It might have worked if it contained copper and did not contain

vitamin A and sucralose. My son can't have vitamin A anymore, unless

from beta carotene, or he will develop toxicity rash. Plus he needs

zinc and copper in balance.

But thanks for suggesting it. I had looked at the Kirkman site

earlier and did not see this one because it apparently is included

under vitamins and not under minerals.

I am using a few chewables, and yes, very convenient!

Have you

Three of my kids can swallow pills. #3 still fights it tho, he

voluntarily chooses to have all supplements mixed into peanut butter

and applesauce, even if they taste bad.

Sounds good.

Well ignore all my previous mineral comments LOL

Apparently my son is too high in other elements/minerals besides iron,

because the multi-mineral I was using [uSRDA only] caused hyper and

other problems, so I removed it yesterday and he had a WONDERFUL day.

Hi Dana,

I'm thrilled for you and your son! As I read the update, I couldn't help but

wonder if zinc and the amino acid blend hold the same promise for my

daughter. Her language, both expressive and receptive, has improved

significantly. She acknowledges her brother more and now calls him by

name, but that's about it. She completely ignores and or is apprehensive

about the neighborhood kids.

Did you purchase the ingredients for the blend separately? Do you use just

the essential amino acids? What was your starting dose for each? As for zinc,

my DAN! doc mentioned it as a possible cause for my daughter's sleep

disturbances. I've also read how important it is for so many other things. Your

post has rekindled my hope.

Thanks so much!

It is a very bizarre feeling to see my son seeking out the company of

other kids....

> Did you purchase the ingredients for the blend separately?

No, I started with a blend. Took me several blends before I found one

without B6 [he is fully B6 loaded, but most blends contain B6 for

amino acid absorption]. But now, of course starting the day I posted

that update LOL, he appears to not need the blend any more. So I need

to experiment with individual aminos.

>>Do you use just

> the essential amino acids?

The blend had most aminos, not just essentials.

>>What was your starting dose for each?

Well, I started with one capsule of the blend, went up to 2, now I

have removed it. For the individuals, I started with 250mg [half

capsule].

>>As for zinc,

Most kids are high copper and low zinc, so giving zinc can be very

helpful. My kids are fully zinc loaded, so I can only give a small

sprinkle every few days now.

I'm looking forward to having that feeling too!

Thanks again,
