Guest guest
Iris: thanks for your research on these sweetners. Your aversion to sucralose seems to have a positive side since we all reap the benefits of your research of other sweetners, some of which have interesting positive side benefits. The archives and previous discussions relate the benefits or xylitol and include among the ones you mentioned, a bone building effect related by Mambo Mambo here: /message/3486 and: /message/1223 Since bone loss is a possible problem among CRONIES, even tho xylitol has a small amt of calories, it may be worthwhile considering. Anyone posting about alternate sweetners: please add the word sweetners in the title of your post (especially if the word is not in the body of your post) for easy searching the archives. The words: Erythritol/xylitol/stevia are not as easily remembered. on 8/27/2002 8:18 AM, oc9 at ibap@... wrote: > The least expensive source for both xylitol and erythritol (so far) > seems to be http://www.beyond-a-century.com which sells both for > $6/lb. I checked the files for the discussion on xylitol and couldn't find the source, so MM and anyone else who uses it, could you please repost where you get it and approximate prices? Same for those who use stevia; I know there are a few on the list who use it and don't care for sucralose. So please tell us the best/cheapest sources and I'll put them on file. on 8/25/2002 11:47 AM, oc9 at ibap@... wrote: > I note in the archives that there was a discussion of xylitol at one > time, but no discussion of erythritol as a sweetener. Guest guest
Found it. MM has also related in the archives that he gets his xylitol from Beyond-a-Century. Iris has also recommended Beyond as the best source. Unless we hear from anyone else I'll put that in the files as the best source. on 8/27/2002 8:44 AM, Francesca Skelton at fskelton@... wrote: > I checked the files for the discussion on xylitol > and couldn't find the source, so MM and anyone else who uses it, could you > please repost where you get it and approximate prices?
