One of our more distinguished members sent me this off list, and it's too

good not to share with the list, so I'm posting it for him (not sure why he

didn't post it himself). Of course the fact that he agrees with me and the

kind words expressed had nothing whatsoever to do with it :-))))

Francesca--

I agree with you 100% that many of us are practicing

CRON moderately, and not cutting calories 30% or more.

It's bad press to focus on people who are cutting

calories 30% or more, because the average non CRON

person will be turned off. It's very hard for the

average person to even think about giving up 30% of

their calories.

And the 30%'ters may not represent our group very

well. They may be much smaller in numbers than CRONies

who are limiting calories by 10, 15 or 20%

And you are absolutely correct that just practicing it

moderately will confer sig. benefits, and as Dr. W

said, just the ON part will confer sig. health

benefits and allow one to avoid many many diseases,

and probably live much longer than otherwise by

avoiding these diseases. Of course this would not

likely increase MAXIMUM life span, but many would be

happy to live in good health until age 85-90.

Also I think you get the gold medal yesterday for

giving the most concise and simple definition of CRON.

I don't have the post in front of me, by you defined

it simply as limiting calories and eating healthy.

that would be a much better public message !!!
