Guest guest
Tracey: Sucralose and Splenda are healthy substitutes for sugar. they are what most CRONIES use. Stevia is also a popular sugar substitute. They are not and do not contain aspartame and aspartame is not recommended. You should consider drinking healthier drinks than diet pop. Iced tea, for example, with some Splenda or sucralose would be a good substitute. With 20 fresh and frozen vegetables and 15 fruits available where you live, you have plenty of variety. And, you can also do CR with frozen dinners, since you say you like them. In our file, " CR Made Easy " we discuss using Healthy Choice dinners, (if they sell them where you live). Skip the dessert offered, and substitute fresh fruit instead. You can add extra veggies to your Healthy Choice meals and a bit of healthy fat such as olive oil, avocado or a couple of nuts. Read the files for more information. Just click on " files " on the left hand margin on our home page at: / I hope this helps you get started. on 8/23/2002 2:01 PM, Tracey at traceylemont@... wrote: > > Do all of these products contain aspartame? Guest guest
Do all of these products contain aspartame? I drink way to much diet pop as it is so I try to avoid it everywhere else. Do you worry about the risks of it or do you consider it an acceptable trade off? I was also wondering if any of you live in small towns and have ideas on how to get "weird" veggies and fruit. The closest health food/organic store to where I live is a 45 minute drive (and I don't have a car). I would like to try things like kale, artichokes and turnip greens. I tried a garden this summer but only the lettuce and beans came up. Forget buying anything whole wheat unless it's expensive cereal or breads. I find it very hard to eat healthy with only 20 fresh or frozen vegetables to chose from and 15 kinds of fruit, I almost miss the days of premade frozen dinners. How do those of you stuck in the boonies manage variety? Tracey

I order many things over the internet and have found a wonderful store in a larger city about ten miles away whose owner orders for me. I do many things at home like make my own yogurt, and kefir, grow sprouts and make my own puddings and desserts using the products I found at this site. I eat everything that I consider healthy but in smaller amounts. I have the additional problem of being from a diabetic family so I have to limit starches and high glycemic carbs. I substitute with sprouted bread, etc. (see files for recipe) You could eat like this forever without being bored no matter where you live. > > > > __________________________________________________
