We use the brainchild nutritionals. I too was skeptical due to the cost but let me reassure you that the bottle is HUGE! The taste is extremely easily disguised in juice. My daughter will even take it straight out of a straw because she thinks it is juice. We have a VERY difficult time getting anything down her but these are easy and definitely worth the money.

Kirkman Lab has a powdered magnesium. Tastes slightly bland, a

little sweet, slightly metallic aftertaste with water. Supposedly

tasteless in juice. Haven't tried it with juice, but I'm guessing it

would fine as it is drinkable in water.

Is the Kirkman powdered Mag, Mag Oxide though. I thought with these kids we

need to use Mag Citrate ? Better absorbtion, etc. I too love the liquid zinc.

I didn't realize this until I called (duh!) but they won't

make any of this without a .... prescription... so if that's a problem,

you may want to look somewhere else for this stuff.

You can get liquid manganese, chromium, zinc, magnesium, copper and

phosphorus from KTS Products. They all mix well with juice (pretty much

required) so the flavor isn't a problem.

The Kirkman powdered magnesium and their liquid zinc are excellent. If you

need others like manganese, KTS Products has potassium permanganate in

liquid form which needs to be mixed in juice.

If you buy all six from KTS you can get them for $6.66 each (4 ounces each)

or $7.95 as a single, and by the way the last one isn't potassium, it's

phosphorus. The company who originally developed the liquid minerals was

Life Balances (since in Chpater 7 bankruptcy) and I was their research

coordinator for 8 years back in the 80's and early 90's. What KTS has

developed is an easier method than the ones you mention from Emerson. The

others recommend anywhere from 2 to 20 drops and the ones from KTS have a

consistant 5 drops each, which in the case of magnesium chloride (which is

the one with 20 drops per serving with theirs) is much more economical from

KTS.

Wanda, My wife is giving our son the electrolytes that she recommended

to another parent. It is helping. She wanted to try the liquid

minerals from her too. What should she ask them, if we want to

get the ones that PK recommends? Steff

Mark,

Can you tell us what form these liquid minerals are in - colloidal, ionic,

etc? Is there a site that discusses them in some detail? I've never seen

information on what dose you get with 5 drops, which would be nice for

comparison purposes (e.g. 5 drops vrs. x mg. zinc). We have the iodine

liquid mineral, and I'd love to know more about the source of the iodine.

Thanks, K.

Well, I'm one of those who hasn't actually seen Dr. Amy yet,

although I do have an appt, which I may very well make it to, in a couple

months. I'm chelating with a dr. here in Calif who doesn't really

care what supplements I give and doesn't keep up with that part of the

whole chelation thing. I am trying to give the whole Dr. Amy

supplement set, though, whether he cares or not. I might be able to

get him to write a script, but I'd have to explain what the whole thing

is about to him or his nurse. I don't think Amy can write me script

for anything until we actually see her, eh?

Btw, just got glycine and mg glycinate from Kirkman today, as well as pro

bio gold. Can anyone tell me recommended dosages for 65 lbs?

The form is ionic and I'll see what I can do to get KTS to post the dosages

to their website in the next few weeks. I understand that the form of

iodine being used, and anyone correct me if I'm wrong, is potassium iodide.

The originator of the program of liquid minerals, Kitkoski, removed

that mineral from the other 6 back in the mid-80's. He was of the opinion

that it didn't belong in the mixture with juice. When I asked him about

selenium and molybdenum he was pretty adamant in not adding them to juice.

Dear heyjude, Mark and everyone else,

Thank you both for taking the time to explain these different versions

of liquid minerals. Currently my sons are taking the E-Lyte

Liquid Minerals. I followed heyjude's lead and called Emerson

Ecologics today. I was basically told the same thing but the

gentleman I spoke with was a bit more helpful. He did tell me a few

things that would appear on this list as a bit unsavory. Suffice

it to say, I think our pediatrician was correct in choosing E-Lyte

Liquid Mineral. Dr. Dietrich Klinghardt, M.D, Ph.D., and since

many consider him to be the foremost authority of mercury detox in the

US I would have to believe there is some sort of

fundamental difference between E-Lyte Liquid Minerals and the KTS

Liquid Minerals.

Mark I must admit unfairness to you. You obviously spent valuable time

to prepare and share this information. My one regret is

that I was unable to contact anyone to obtain more information about

the KTS Liquid Minerals. You mention Kitkoski as the

originator of the program of liquid minerals. Can you tell me how to

get in touch with him or someone in the position to share a little

more information. When I called Emerson Ecologics today, the fact the

E-Lyte Liquid Minerals are made under sterile conditions

was stressed repeatedly. Who would be the best person to speak with

about the KTS Liquid Minerals in reference to the

laboratory conditions and the sterility of the environment they are

produced in.

The little 4 ounce individual bottles I have follows. Please notice

that none of them require the 20 drop dosage you suggest.

Trace Minerals

1) potassium phosphate 13 drops

2) zinc sulfate 7 drops

3) Magnesium chloride 10 drops

4) copper sulphate 4 drops

5) Chromium 5 drops.

6) Manganese 7 drops

7) Molybdenum 3 drops

Ultra-Trace Minerals

8) selenium 3 drops.

7) Iodine 3 drops

I am interested in getting more information. For instance if the

company that originally developed the liquid minerals was

Life Balances who is the person who originally developed them? I'm

hoping that as a former research coordinator for for Life

Balances for 8 years you will have a contact person for me. You've

provided so much information on this subject already I hate to

put you on the spot but when it comes to information about the KTS

Liquid Minerals you seemed to be a good source of

information!

Mark,

I hope you don't mind one more question. Why? I've been adding the

Liquid Minerals to juice for nine months now. It's a bit disturbing

now to hear that they should not be mixed in juice. Do you know why?

In reality, there is little fundamental difference between E-Lyte Minerals

(not the electrolytes) and KTS Products. Secondly, Kitkoski is one of

the more difficult people to get a hold of and is in the midst of a legal

battle which I am aware of but staying far, far away from. His company,

Life Balances, is out of business so, the liquid minerals they created are

not available as far as I know. As far as proving that they created it,

easy to do as I have copies of material they copyrighted back in the '80's

with almost the identical set of drops E-Lyte uses, aside from the magnesium

chloride which had 20 drops. What KTS did was make it easier for the

individual to use the liquid minerals by standardizing the drops to 5 each.

This helps decrease the potential for error.

One of your other posts mentioned why you shouldn't use the ultra-trace

minerals in juice. Very simple answer - the original 6 minerals were

formulated so that using the sense of taste you could judge when your body

needed them or more importantly didn't need them. The concept of how this

works is for my book as it would take 20-30 pages to give it justice. With

the ultra-trace minerals that isn't the case. Because they are found in

such small quantities in the body, it can't tell when you've had too much.

And as many know, selenium and molybdenum can be toxic if you take too much

(as with the others but the sense of taste helps protect against that). As

for the iodine, it seems to be best used by itself from what we've seen in

the past.

I have no doubt that the minerals are produced in a clean and carefully

monitored environment by E-Lyte and that is at it should be. KTS is very

sensitive to the production quality and of all of their products. They

subcontract almost all of the production of their products to top-quality

manufacturers, including Kirkman Labs and Energique (for herbals). This is

true of many of the well known brand names out there like Allergy Research

Group. KTS presently has 5 different electrolyte solutions (4 more coming)

to provide a more customized product than others.

Hope this clears up things.
