Guest guest
I came home earlier than I was originally planning, I didn't want to test MySelf too much because I didn't head off to sleep until around 4AM. I finally got a spot for my car around 5PM or so. So that's about 11 hours? Except for the few moments sitting in a porta potty - I think ONLY 3 times... after I finally found a place for my car, some time around Midnight, and then about an hour before I fell off to sleep, and 3 times sitting down for a performance on the stage, I was on my feet the entire 11 hour period. Walking in the SQUISHY MUD, and standing around watching the bands on stage, and pickers back at one of the main camp sites. About 2 AM or so I noticed my left knee was kinda stiff and bothering me from standing in one spot too long while the wind was blowing. And during the last set on the stage it got cooler, so I had to go get my sweat jacket. I also felt 2 or 3 times those electrical shock feelings, that's it call, L'Hermittes Sign? But.... other than that, the only other problem I may have had was this morning when I woke up.. it's a good thing I keep empty bottles with me, I'd never have even made it out of the car. While driving there at one point the skies opened up, could barely see the hood of my car so I just closed my eyes and hoped for the best LOL. NO, not quite. I never did like driving in the 'rain', niagara falls type downpours really get to me though. I everyone was pulling off to the side, but I kept going, an exit was near. I managed to get off the exit and headed north to find a place to safely just pull over a few minutes... but storms like that are strange, it stopped raining, so I kept going, then west, saw a sign to get back to the highway, and got back on, no more rain. I had forgotten what that place is like after it rains... I got there and was considering just turning around and going home, but I didn't. I have a 5 speed, so how bad could it be... right? wrong. I just turned off the panic button while slipping around. Luckily my leg cooperated and clutched me out of the messes. I found someone I knew and went back to her area to find a spot for the night. I parked the car in a temporary spot and walked around in the squishy mud. Found a spot, if I could manage to get my car into it. And I did. So I was set for the night.. and the next 11 hours on my feet. This was my first festival without joining my camping couple, I've been going with them 2-3 times a year since 1991, but every 7 years this weekend conflicts with another event so we weren't going. When he told me this back in March I surely wasn't even remotely considering the possibility of my going ALONE. Never did before, and not because of the MS, or well, maybe it always has been.. but I was never a camper doer, if it wasn't for them, I'd never go to these things. They know what they're doing, I just help, and join them. But after the last 2 months, I got the idea to go for 1 or 2 nights and just sleep in my car and not worry about food and all the normal comforts of camping I'm afforded by joining my friend and his wife. I certainly gave my legs a good workout.. the feeling, someone once described as a tuning fork kind of vibration type feeling/sensation, I have from 1/2 between my hips and knee all he way down to my toes. I'm going to find out how much it costs for a cargo van for a whole month and make the 4 trips I mentioned previously... 5 days, 3 days, 5 days and 3 days.. the first 3 are with the same group as this weekend, including my friend and his wife.. and the last one is with my family group, usually 5 or 6 couples with 2 kids each. But this weekend was my first overnighter alone, and I know I wouldn't have attempted it, and probably couldn't do it, before April! I know it.
