Guest guest
I agree Elaine, this is exactly what my pharmacist told me -- not to try and make up the right dose on my own -- let a professional do it. Otherwise one doesn't really know what dose they are getting and then even if it is modified in the future, you don't know where what you've been taking. It makes me wonder about Dr. Bihari's assistant giving out that kind of advice - I'm not saying it's wrong, it just makes me question the advice. I know what some neurologists would say: " see it doesn't make any difference what dose you take " - implicating the placebo effect. > Hi, > I was also told by Dr. Bahari's asst. to open the capsule and empty out some of the mixture to cut my dosage from 4.5 to 3...however when I discussed this with my pharmacist I was told this could result in either still getting 4.5 or getting no LDN at all... . a 4.5 dose of LDN can fit on the head of a pin and the rest in the capsule is just filler, so it would be difficult to separate accurately...it makes sense to me to have a compounding pharmacist make the adjustment. > Elaine >
Guest guest
I really do believe, after adjusting my own for the past weeks, that it is NOT a good thing. There are times when I'm really discouraged because one day I feel good and the next I feel awful like I did when I was on the higher dose. I have to believe that it's because I'm not adjusting it properly and as one person said, I'm dumping out filler and not medication. I'm going to call Dr. Bihari's office again and see if I can't talk directly to Dr. Birhari. I really don't care that I have a 60 day supply for 4.5 mg. It would have been nice to use them but not at the expense of going through the roller coaster of feeling great one day and feeling awful the next. I really have to thank everyone for their input on this - otherwise I don't think I would have realized why I was feeling the way I was feeling. -----Original Message-----From: G. Guest guest
You know after listening to all of you, I agree. I was lowering the dose by pouring out 1/3 but, like you, some days I felt better and some worse. Like today, I feel more numbness in me knees and it's really annoying. I just called the pharmacist and are having them overnight a 3.0 script. This is my health and it's worth any extra money I have to pay out. That's my 2 cents!!
