Guest guest
, Some thoughts regarding this portion of your post: ....I know there are web sites I could get 50mg Naltrexone with no prescription that I could modify, but I'm not sure that will work... If naltrexone is water soluble, could you not dissolve the 50mg in 50cc's of distilled water and take out the corresponding dose by dividing that figure into the total amount of the mixture? Anyone... any thoughts on the viability of this? Regards, Emanuel
Guest guest
Thank you so much for your response, Emanuel! This is so incredible. I have received several responses that I will follow up on. This site is wonderful. I am so encouraged now. Thank you again!! Guest guest
Hi Emanuel, I think there are several people over at the www.goodshape.net bulletin board that take the LDN by mixing it up in water. I think what they do is make very small portions cuz it does not stay viable for a long time. You might ask that question over that at that bb. They do buy the Naltrexone at the larger dose cuz it is much more cost effective this way. I decide not to try to do it myself cuz it was way too important for me to try and guess on all that. Good luck. Joyce. From: Emanuel C Montera low dose naltrexone Subject: [low dose naltrexone] Re: Anyone know where to get LDN in So.Cal? Guest guest
Hi again , I just re-read your message...duh..you did say no to the MS research so that answers that question. As far as the Naltrexone. Pretty sure there has been talk about mixing up the 50 mg tablets in water at that site too. Think several use it that way. Not sure where else I would have seen it. Joyce. Guest guest
Oh I totally agree. Personally I think it is way too important to try and do it myself. I do however understand why some do it. It is incredibly cheap this way and some just cannot afford the compounder prices. I say whatever way you can do it then by all means. If doing it yourself is the only way you can do it well, I say go for it. Joyce. From: " G. I think playing pharmacist with drugs such as LDN is dangerous and unscientific.... histamine is a bit more forgiving. phil On Mon, 30 Jun 2003, wkendz 32 wrote: > Hi again , > I just re-read your message...duh..you did say no to the MS research so that > answers that question. Guest guest
Hello everyone, apologies for not posting lately, I've been changing ISP. Back online again now :-) I have to disagree slightly with the " dangerous and unscientific " comment below. It's as scientific as you make it. If you don't know how to do it, then it almost certainly will be unscientific. Scientific just means that you do things in a methodical and logical manner. Hopefully people would have enough sense to know they don't know what they're doing, and not do it. I have used both precompounded pills, and diluted 50mg pills myself. I have noticed NO difference at all when I switch between the two. I mostly use the precompounded pills, but wanted to have a decent supply of 50mg pills to hand as well, as a " backup " . My first doses of LDN was in diluted form, in fact. It's very easy as long as you're comfortable with some basic maths and a teeny tiny bit of " lab work " . Crush up a 50mg pill to a very fine powder and dilute it in X amount of distilled water. You want a certain concentration, say 4.5mg per 10ml (if you have a 10ml measuring cylinder, this is ideal, and what I use). So 50mg/X = 4.5mg/10ml. Therefore, solving for X, you dilute the crushed 50mg pill in (50*10)/4.5 = 111.1 ml. So dissolve a 50mg pill up in 0.111 litre for 4.5mg per 10ml. Easy The naltrexone DOES NOT dissolve in the solution, it merely hangs in suspension, so it's important to shake the bottle before measuring out your 10ml each night. I also quote the LDN website here: " If LDN is used in a liquid form, it is important to keep it refrigerated. " . You can also buy glucose solutions (to use instead of distilled water) from pharmacies that will allow you to keep the solution stable at room temperature. They are usually expensive though. Anyway, if you've ever done any lab work, or are confident with the math and your ability to be methodical, then I would suggest this method is just as reliable as precompunded pills, perhaps more so unless you're dealing with a compounder that makes a lot of LDN. If not, then it's probably best to get it from a compounder. Certainly never do anything drugwise without being sure, and without getting good advice! Good luck people, and all the best. Matt. Guest guest
There are cases where 50mg tablets have been mixed with pharmaceutical grade syrup or water. However, due to its theoretical instability in liquid form it must be kept refrigerated and is recommended that no more than a months supply be mixed at a time. Anyone have information about how Pharmacies usually get 50 mg to 4.5 mg legally without distilled water or other sterile products? Or do you have to ask the Pharmacist? I refer to the US since some people may be from other Countries and I don't know what is required here or elsewhere. Vikee

Guest guest
Hi Vikee, I knew there was something I liked about you....you're my age...lol. How come you're not on ldn yet? You can't " vent " unless you've tried it...lol. Thanks for your reply to my sleeping problem. I guess the secret is, not when you sleep, but the quality of that sleep. I just feel sleep deprived staying up all night and sleeping during the day. I love mornings....and if I stay up all night, I only see them thru bloodshot eyes. And I also feel a little guilty....I sort of ignor the needs of my family....they sleep at night, like normal people...lol. I have grandkids, who are growing up while I sleep, and a husband of 34 yrs....who likes it....lol Well, anyway, I am going to try to get myself back on track and back to " normal " . Thanks for your input....and I am 62..... The good old days! I didn't realize you did say you felt sleep deprived and really felt it! Brain fog (cognition)!! I wish I did, that would get me back to mornings!!! When I see and feel the sun rise it's on my patio as the light starts to light the window above my computer!!!! I do love this time and it reminds me of childhood and mornings in the Country while in upstate NY (I lived in the city)! I was Dx with MS in my early 50's but can trace it back to age 17 with paralysis on my left side (trunk, arm, hand and fingers). It lasted about 4 months as a mystery disease with strange on and off symptoms (including Optic Neuritis) for many years and remitted for many more, then slowly came back and what I thought was an inner ear infection showed up as MS on a few tests including MRI! I was relieved and happy to learn I had MS cause it explained so many physical symptoms considered anxiety!!! With LDN.......long story .......in short.... am waiting for Dr. visits......and research on IBS (Irritable Bowel Syndrome).... I accept my MS disability and limitations (still walk with a cane slowly) but would take LDN for fatigue!!!! Some damage I have I feel can't be corrected without nerve growth. I have other physical and mental Symptoms which I and my Drs. choose to medicate heavily so would rather not add more medication....fully realize LDN may help all of them!!! I go into the water with great caution and slow speed! Hugs, Vikee
