Guest guest
Hi everyone, I just wanted to find out how everyone was doing on LDN. I recently asked my neurologist for it and she wouldn't give it to me. I have MS and have only heard good things about it so far, but am wondering if anyone has had any problems with it. It sounds like a great alternative for the currents meds. Let me know what you all think. Thanks, enjoy the weekend. Guest guest
I had the same insomnia the first night but have felt great all week. People at work last Thursday accused me of being " high " so the effects seem tangible. I was very sleepy that day after no sleep but felt rested anyway... kind of strange that way. So far so good, both Dr. Zagon (the researcher) and Dr. Sullivan said to give it a couple months to see lasting effects, so I am praticing patience. Also histamineangel.com said they sent me the samples for symptoms but haven't seen them yet. Has anyone else tried the histamine patch? There was an article in the NYTimes magazine 3/16/03 (cover: Half of what doctors know is wrong) about Pat Wagner and bee venom (stings). Says she was a " breathing corpse " brought back to life by a sting. Anyone tried this? She was dx in 1970 w/ MS now does this for people in Md. I guess she is the " bee lady " . I know some people do this but yet to hear if it is effective. I would assume no conflict with LDN as they may work together... Guest guest
try it, what have you got to lose? there are minimal side effects, it's inexpensive and people swear by it. What's wrong with this picture for the neuro? Mine was the same way, not sure why other than they have no experience with it, Call Dr. Sullivan in burg and he will prescribe it for you after a short phone interview. Sorry but are we responsible for our health or are the docs? To me, they are there to help and I don't want to play doctor but if people report something is working for them, don't you think they should at least look into it? My 2 cents. Docs are so worried about litigation these days it is getting in the way of treating people. BTW, I work for the University of Michigan and it just broke ground on an " alternative treatment " clinic at at the U. Not sure what they'll be doing with it yet but I know they won't take any insurance coverage, it's all out of pocket, but if you want to be healthy, why not? It's called " Integrative Medicine Wellness Center " . I guess they want to try something current as well as tap into the 30 billion $ / year industry that CAM medicine is experiencing. People are willing to pay to be healthy, that is for sure. Guest guest
I've been taking LDN for a month and at first I thought I wasn't feeling as "energetic" as I thought I would. But, one thing I've started to realize is that I'm doing more, getting around more, going more places, etc. to the point where it really wears me out. So, even though I'm exhausted, it's because I'm doing more activities which is GREAT! I'd also be very interested in knowing if bee venom has a positive effect on the majority of those who have tried it. -----Original Message-----From: phillip harding [mailto:philh@...]Sent: Saturday, May 03, 2003 2:18 PMblueswede06Cc: low dose naltrexone Subject: Re: [low dose naltrexone] Started on LDNI had the same insomnia the first night but have felt great all week.
