Guest guest
Hi everyone. Just received my first batch of LDN and start taking it tonight. Also just joined a gym and had my first session with a personal trainer who understands MS. I am hoping that the endorphins enjoy the release I'm trying to give them and that they give me back a quality of life I miss so much. I intend to keep a diary and will keep you all posted as to my progress if any. Hopefully some of my symptons will improve or dare I say out loud disappear! Whatever the result, as has been pointed out before on the site, it shouldn't do any harm and just might make a long term difference even if it isn't immediately apparent - I would be grateful if it just slowed down the progression a bit. Be in touch next week. Sue
Guest guest
That's a GOOD question. Perhaps someone taking LDN for Other than MS can tell us how their legs were before LDN and since. I may have a friend, just turned 60 last year, who has no diagnosed diseases, that might start taking LDN. We're going to run our own little trial. He's going to take his temperature and monitor as much of his feelings as possible. I'll have to have him monitor his legs too. But that won't be starting for a month or 3, so hopefully someone without MS on LDN will have an answer for us. ----- Original Message ----- From: trleslie7 low dose naltrexone Sent: Monday, March 22, 2004 22:47 Subject: [low dose naltrexone] New User I haven't started using LDN yet, waiting for an appoinment-but everyone talks about stiff legs. Guest guest
I have PLS (Primary Lateral Sclerosis) and spasticity (stiffness) is one of the main symptoms. I don't take baclofen or anything to relieve the spasticity as many do because I find it zonks me which is not a good idea when your job involves using your brain! (or for driving either) When I first started on LDN (3.0mg) my stiffness increased, most noticeably in my legs, but after 3 or 4 days it eased off and now (about 3 weeks later) I find I am actually less stiff than before and walking (with my frame) a bit more easily than pre LDN. Guest guest
I don't have much stiffness any more either. When I first started having them, I assumed it was my legs "waking up" and telling me they wanted some attention after all these years. So I started Stretching. Every time I felt those sensations I would stand up and stretch. So LDN does give some added stiffness when you start. Is there anyone who doesn't have MS and Didn't have stiffness before starting LDN? ----- Original Message ----- From: C low dose naltrexone Sent: Tuesday, March 23, 2004 04:26 Subject: Re: [low dose naltrexone] New User I have PLS (Primary Lateral Sclerosis) and spasticity (stiffness) is one of the main symptoms. Guest guest
The most noticable improvement for me after starting LDN was resolution of the stiffness. Guest guest
I do not have MS. I am taking LDN as a cancer preventative. I have only been on it for 4 days now but I have had no stiffness at all. Diane
Guest guest
Me too. I had slowly been getting stiff for so many years, I didn't even know how stiff I was. One month on LDN and I feel free and loose and stretching is fun instead of too miserable to try! Guest guest
My wife Barbara has Multiple Myeloma, a cancer of the plasma cells. It is not curable. One goes from one treatment to the next, and as they fail or become to toxic one moves on until nothing works. Survival runs from a few months to more than a decade depending on agressiveness of individual's disease, availability to treatment, etc. It is my hope that LDN will rev up the T cell side of her immune system to help get an edge on the cancer. She has been taking 3.0mg for 4 nights. No notable side effects except she has what I see as more energy in the morning. It is so natural that she does not see it as an effect of the drug. She is scheduled to step up to 4.5mg after the first month of 3.0mg. A merry heart doeth good like a medicine: but a broken spirit drieth the bones. Guest guest
I will be happy to keep you posted. Actually I have had no side effects whatsoever from taking the LDN so far except that I think I am sleeping better. I have had a few dreams which is unusual for me but noting too bizarre. My roommate, also started taking it 4 days ago for MS. She also has not had any stiffness but is having some cognitive problems since the first day she started taking it. She had some cognitive problems when she was first diagnosed in August of 2001 but they cleared up after about the first six months and she hasn't really had them again until she started on the LDN. Has anyone else had cognitive problems as a result of taking the LDN? On a more positive note it appears to already be helping with her numbness and pain.
