I received this question by private email. The person does not want

to post it in public, so she asked me to do it for her. Anyone have

any ideas for her? She has a 2-1/2 year old child in the process of

being dx, and a 5-1/2 month old child which is the reference in this

message.

I have been breastfeeding from day 1 (with a few supplemental bottles

of formula when I was desperate- probably overall about 4oz/ week). I

have been gf since mid-March or so and have gone off dairy within the

past few days. Here's my dilemma...

My doc wants me on Zoloft (long story but I've been struggling with a

bunch of different things lately). She assured me that it was ok to

breastfeed while taking Zoloft. I was actually on it for a total of 3

days before I started to panic about this. With all the

sensitivities/digestive issues, etc. in our family I am concerned about

Zoloft and breastfeeding. I'm assuming that you are not a doc but do

you have any knowledge of this topic? I stopped taking for the time

being, unfortunately I really do think that I may need it.

I would like to continue breastfeeding, however, I'm just not sure if

this is the best at this point.

I will forward any replies directly to her. Thanks for any info.
