Guest guest
Hello , In both two emails I have from you, I cannot find out about the dosage you started LDN with. This detail is quite relevant and perhaps your dosage needs to be reduced to 3 mg or less. According to Bihari, LDN still works at dosages above 1 mg regardless of the severity of the MS. I am sure someone else can contribute better than me to this issue ie. look at previous emails from Harding. Plz, let me know what dosage are you taking now. Interestingly enough, I also have not had to take anything for leg spasms (adivan or clomazepan) at nite since I started. I still get spasms but am able to change position a bit and they go away for an hour or two. Any thoughts on the spasticity-its really hard to move around, to transfer from my chair and even if my hubby moves in bed my legs spaz out...thanks,
Guest guest
I would give it more than a week. Also if you are on 4.5mg, talk to your doc about reducing it to 3mg. Dr. Bihari likes to start people on 4.5mg and then back it down if there are any problems (mostly insomnia). I've been on 3mg/day for exactly one month and have had no side effects. On the positive side, I no long have nightly leg twitches nor do I wake up feeling like I " slept on " my left hand/arm (which used to feel like 100 lbs. until I started moving it around). There are others in this group who started on 4.5mg, had some problems, backed it down to 3mg and the problems disappeared, so that might be a solution for you. Remember the goal here is to trigger increased endocrin production, nothing else. Good luck to you and be sure to report back any progress or lack there of. Guest guest
Hi Everyone Thanks for your great replies and insights. I am taking 3 mg of LDN. I knew my spasticity might be an issue which is why I started low. I am not a small tiny person either -just in case dosage might be related to weight. Should I perhaps go lower? Am I worrying about this too soon? Perhaps my body needs time to adjust?? Thanks you guys-I wouldn't have even tried LDN without you... Guest guest
Hi Everyone, I am having a real concern. I am seeing Dr. Bihari next Friday. I have problems with spasticity and from what I am reading, some people after getting on LDN have an increase in spasticity. I am wondering if this happens to everyone. Has anyone had problems with spasticity and after getting on LDN, had a reduction in the spasms. If you are having a increase in spasms will your body eventually get use to the LDN and then the spasms ease up or do you think that it has something to do with the doseage. Can anyone help me with this? Thanks, Marie
Guest guest
I had leg spasms before LDN and they are decreasing in their frequency NOT increasing. Ask Dr. Bihari but I fail to see why temporarily blocking endorphin uptake by your CNS would result in an increase in spasticity... the endorphin bath the next day should help with the irritability in the lesions (that's what the web site says anyway). I've had nothing but subtle small affects with LDN, I think everyone is different, but I think you should try it asap... imho phil, good luck to you On Sat, 24 May 2003, Marie Deady wrote: > Hi Everyone, > I am having a real concern.
