Guest guest
My girlfriend started on LDN almost a month ago in Italy. She started LDN at 3.3 mg for the simple reason she started taking one third of a 10 mg pill daily. Later we’ve found a pharmacy that could compound Naltrexone for us into any dosage, however we carried out with this odd amount of 3.3 mg. So far so good, she is really happy and the pain in her arms and her back is almost gone. Last week she also started taking Vitamins and Minerals that come into a product called “MultiCentrum”. We do not know if it is something related with, but after a couple of days she started this, she complained some “just perceptible” tremors on her left hand. Therefore, we decided to temporally stop the assumption of these vitamins/minerals 2 days ago and we are currently seeing if this does make any difference…. You never know! At the same time, we have to place a new order for LDN and we asked our doctor to have both 1 month of 3 mg and 1 month of 3.5 mg supplies. Firstly, we will try the 3.5 mg! As far as I can understand, one easy way (if not the only way…) to find out the right amount of LDN that gives the best compromise between healing and unwanted actions, is by “excess”: rising the dosage until these side effects we know, emerge and than stepping back. Yet never exceeding 4.5 mg. Like anybody here, I am trying to figure out something about the LDN dosage issue and it could help if experiences like yours where reported with as many details as possible. For example, how long did you try with the reverted 3 mg dose before asserting that it didn’t work? I think that is remarkable that no one taking LDN ever reported new relapses of the disease since, even taking smaller dosages than 3 mg. My doctor in UK told me in one of his last emails that he will introduce soon an even lower dose of 1.5 mg of Naltrexone to some of his hundreds of patients. I usually take it between 9 and 10 before bed. With just a sip of water to wash it down, I do not eat any thing with it. I do not crave any foods. I do not drink, And I do take daily vitamins and calcium. ----- Original Message ----- From: LarryGC Spotlight_med Sent: Sunday, May 25, 2003 10:37 AM Subject: Re: [spotlight_med] This may be a tough question to answer.... Just thought of some questions... So, you're taking 4.5. Still taking it? What time do you take it? Are you eating something with it, before it, after it, or not at all? Are you drinking a sip of water to wash it down, or are you drinking 8 oz or more? Are you going to bed within an hour of taking it, or are you still up a few hours? Are you sure the LDN is not Slow Release? How much sleep are you getting an average day? All at once, or with naps? What 'foods' does your body CRAVE, that you eat a lot of, or have to have every day? i.e. coffee, tea, chocolate, cocoa, almonds, bananas, tuna, milk, cheese, ice cream, etc? Do you drink a lot of alcohol? What other medications are you taking daily, supplements, vitamins? Do you go to chiropractors, acupuncturists, PT? Just some questions that come to mind... actually, to my fingers. I just wrote the first sentence and let my fingers do the rest... maybe we can find something that stands out. ----- Original Message ----- From: Dana & Wendie Spotlight_med Sent: Sunday, May 25, 2003 12:01 Subject: Re: [spotlight_med] This may be a tough question to answer.... Are you PP? Or RR? Has it helped at all in the beginning, and then just stopped? Maybe try the 14 days, then skip 4 days, routine and see how that goes? This is why I asked. What has the doctor who gave you the script said? ----- Original Message ----- From: Dana & Wendie Spotlight_med Sent: Saturday, May 24, 2003 10:12 Subject: Re: [spotlight_med] This may be a tough question to answer.... I am taking 4.5, After this all started I tried 3 and that was no good. I can not walk in a straight line and if I am just standing after a while I have to hold something. If I walk to much then I start to limp. None of these things I have experienced befor.
