Guest guest
HI THERE LARRY, WELL I JUST GOT DONE JOINING MSWATCH.COM JUST SO I COULD POST SOMETHING IN REGARDS TO THE LDN. HERE IS A COPY OF WHAT I JUST POSTED. NOT EVEN REALLY SURE WHERE IT WENT. THERE MUST BE A DELAY IN POSTING CUZ I DON'T SEE IT YET BUT HERE IS THE FULL POST. Hi group...not sure where Starsendz gets her/his info but Naltrexone most certainly is FDA approved at a much higher doseage for things other then MS. That certainly does not mean that it can't work for and indeed does work for MS at a much lower dose. Therefore the name low dose naltrexone. I think that hairs are being split here at the expense of a hell of a lot of people. I am here to tell you that I am living proof of it helping to arrest any further progress of my MS. I've been taking it for about a year now and so far so good for me. I would call that a pretty good alternative to any one of those MS modifying meds. I challenge anyone, and especially the author of that message saying that there are pro's and con's to taking it, to list one con please??? I can certainly list quite a few pro's if need be. I don't think the mechanic behind it is to boost the immune system but rather to cause the body to create endorphins which in turn regulate the immune system back to its normal state. If you have MS I'd recommend you walk...no run to your doc to have it prescribed for you. I cannot do anymore then to get the info out there but it is up to you to use that information wisely. The med does have its pro`s & con`s, & no significant studies/clinical trials have been done with MS patients. Naltrexone is usually used in 50mg doses as a drug to help heroin or opium addicts, by blocking the effect of such drugs. FDA-approved naltrexone, in a low dose (only 3mg), can boost the immune system, helping those with HIV/AIDS, cancer, and autoimmune diseases. LDN is currently under {{Experimental}} use for many conditions. Who knows what the future holds...... For now, I am sticking to the FDA approved MS modifying meds that have been tested & prove that they slow the relapse rate of MS. Guest guest
Thanks for heads up! I am new to internet, email (only 3 mo). I saw MS Watch shown in past postings, & WAS, notice I said WAS slightly interested to see what is all about. NOT NOW. I DON'T THINK I WANT TO GO THERE! Thanks gang. We have a good site with Spotlight_ldn & LDN groups. Thanks for all your information. Keep on keeping on! The best is yet to be. Warm regards, Cyd -----Original Message-----From: jmullen [mailto:jmullen1@...] Sent: Saturday, June 21, 2003 1:34 PMSpotlight_ldn Subject: RE: [spotlight_ldn] LDN Q on MSW Just for the record I posted that question because I couldn’t believe that some of the users were being kicked out of MSWatch for the mention of LDN. It was the first (and probably) the last time I will be on there. -----Original Message-----From: LarryGC [mailto:larrygc@...] Sent: Saturday, June 21, 2003 4:16 PMMSWatchersCc: Spotlight_LDNSubject: [spotlight_ldn] LDN Q on MSW http://www.mswatch.com/mswatch/home/ShowDiscussionMessage.asp?MessageID=2930532 & ts=1056225429062 & GetHistory=yes & DiscussionGroupID=51 & GetDiscussionGroups=yes & DiscussionGroupName=Copaxone%2520Patients & RootMessageID=2930532 & OpenAll=yes Anyone who's still on MSWatch want to answer jockquest's question? Guest guest
Hurray for LDN! I am now 6wks. and counting. I will NEVER go off it! I am feeling TOO GOOD. I WILL PUT UP WITH SOME SMALL THINGS THAT ARE NOT QUITE RIGHT YET. THAT IS WHAT TOMORROWS ARE FOR. I AM SO THANKFUL I LEARNED ABOUT LDN FROM AN OPEN MINDED MD IN OREGON. HURRAY FOR THE DOC'S & PATIENTS WHO HAVE GUTS ENOUGH TO STAND UP FOR ALTERNATIVE MEDICINE THAT TRULY HELPS ALL OF US WITH THESE NASTY DIAGNOSIS, INSTEAD OF THE ABCR DRUGS. THANKS TO ALL FOR THESE WONDERFUL MESSAGE BOARDS. LET'S ALL HANG IN THERE TOGETHER, AND TOMORROW WILL BE BETTER FOR SO MANY MORE PEOPLE. Share a smile often, it helps! Warmest regards to all.
