Guest guest
http://www.morse-associates.com/seminar.html THE IMPACT OF INDOOR AIR QUALITY (IAQ) DURING RENOVATION AND NEW CONSTRUCTION PROJECTS ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- ---- Prepared By: G. Morse AIA Morse Associates 504 Snake Hill Road Poestenkill, New York (518) 283-7671 COURSE DESCRIPTION Renovation projects create special indoor air quality (IAQ) issues, from dust and paint (sic) fumes during construction to off-gassing from new carpeting and wall finishes after occupancy. This session will focus on simple, straightforward procedures, some borrowed from asbestos and lead remediation procedures, some dealing with material selection and construction phasing, that can eliminate those problems. You will learn to Identify techniques for avoiding problems during renovation and new construction. Please note that the convention program indicates that mold and mold remediation would also be covered in this session. Unfortunately, there simply is not time to adequately cover that topic along with IAQ during renovation. I thought it was preferable to leave mold to another course rather than doing a half-way job. If you are looking for such a course, let the AIA know. I will be happy to put on such a course at the next conference. In the meanwhile, if there is a demand, I will be adding mold and mold remediation topics to my web site.
