Guest guest
Sally, I am feeling just like you this week. It is my 6th week on LDN and I am not doing as well this week. The rain, heat and humidity in NY is horrible too. Maybe we should wait and ride out the storm. I quit smoking 3 yrs. ago. Thought thats what was making me weak. Quit after 25 yrs and found out I had MS. I am glad I quit though, but I do still miss it. Anyway, I hope next week is better for us. Kiki PS not much help, was I? Guest guest
Yes Kiki, you were a lot of help. Guest guest
Thanks so much for your uplifting remarks. Hugs, Sally Hang in there guys. When I started using LDN it was explained to me that it would slow or stop progression, I didnt expect any more than that. Symptoms caused by old excerbations would probably not be affected. (I just wish I would've found out about this stuff 5 years ago!) I've read quite a few posts by those who have experienced 'perks' by using LDN. I think thats incredible. Take it easy, get lots of rest, and take comfort in knowing that by using LDN we may be stopping this MonSter dead in its tracks. :0) ************************************************************** This message was scanned by the Avast Anti-Virus Gateway **************************************************************
Guest guest
Hi Sally, So sorry to hear that you are not feeling good. I was on 4.5mg and not feeling great so I went down to 3mg. Felt better. Then gradually I started to go up to 4.5 again. I was still doing okay along the way but then when I got close to 4.5 I got weak and tired. So I pushed it down. Now I am on about 3.75 - 4mg not sure of the dosage. I empty out the short end of the capsule. I think that is about 3.75 or 4mg. I say to go down a little but not all the way to 3mg. 4.5 isn't for everyone. Maybe you can do what I am doing Please let us know how you are doing. Guest guest
Sally, Try doing what Marie suggested and also try a mild sleep aid. Something like Melatonin, 3mg taken 1 and 1/2 hours before you take your LDN. Guest guest
I was reading on the internet how one MSer took her pill in the morning and it made her spasticity reduced. How about.... if you have a 4.5 mg pill- take half in the morning and half at the prescribed time. Do you think this would make things better? Sally, don't give up. I'm in your corner cheering you (and everyone else ) on. I have another week before my appointment with Dr. . I saw my GP yesterday and she was uncomfortable with prescribing LDN for me. Although she was very interested in it and kept all the papers I printed out on it. holding my breath, alex --- In low dose naltrexone , " Bren " <TwisterAlley2@w...> wrote: > Sally, > > Try doing what Marie suggested and also try a mild sleep aid. Guest guest
HI TRACIE, THIS IS VERY INTERESTING, TO SAY THE LEAST. I HAD NEVER HEARD THAT BEFORE, THAT DR. BAHARI HAD CONDONED TAKING LESS THAN 4.5MG....EXCEPT IN THE EARLY DAYS. NOW THAT I HAVE HEARD IT FROM YOU, IT DOES MAKE PERFECT SENSE. I ALWAYS SAID THAT MORE IS NOTALWAYS BETTER AND IN THE CASE FOR LDN, IT SEEMS TO BE THE DOSE THAT'S RIGHT FOR YOU, WORKS JUST AS WELL FOR YOU. MY CONCERN NOW IS, AM I USING THE RIGHT COMPOUNDER? I WANT TO TAKE ADVANTAGE OF EVERY OPPORTUNITY TO MAKE LDN WORK FOR ME. IS ANYONE ELSE HERE USING "THE PRESCRIPTION CENTER" FOR THEIR LDN? AND IF SO HOW ARE YOU DOING? AS WELL AS THE OTHERS? LET ME KNOW PLEASE. MAYBE I SHOULD SELL MY CAR AND START OVER WITH DR. BAHARI..HAHA $450.00 IS A LOT OF MONEY FOR A PHONE CALL, BUT I WILL PAY IT, IF IT MAKES THING BETTER. OR MAYBE JUST HAVE DR ORDER FROM IRMAT PHARMACY. OR SKIPS OR LARRY'S OR.......?? INPUT PLEASE!! LOVE, SALLY HI Sally! I am currently taking 2 mg of LDN. I cannot tolerate a higher dose. I sometimes feel that I need to be taking a higher dose to achieve the maximum benefit but each time I try to increase my dose, I don't feel good. I either have a couple of good days with the higher dose and then start feeling less than par or I cannot sleep which is a sure sign the dose if too high. Dr. Bihari told me that everyone has different tolerances. My body is sensitive to the LDN. He told me that taking 2 mg is the same as someone else taking 4.5mg. I guess what I am trying to say is this- if you don't feel good on the 4.5 mg dose, try dropping it back until you are feeling well consistently. You don't have to go back to 3.0 mg necessarily and you don't have to stay at 4.5mg. either. Dr. Bihari says if you are takind a dose too high for you that the LDN starts interfering with the way the endorphins are supposed to work. It is not a good thing to take too much. Nothing is written in stone. Find out what your body needs by experimenting. That's what I did. I still have bad days and recurring symptoms rearing thier ugly heads, but overall, LDN has changed the course of my MS for the GOOD! I had 5 major exacerabtions last year and this year I have had only very minor activity. I am extremely pleased with the LDN! Guest guest
THANKS DEBBIE....THAT IS GREAT TO KNOW....I LIKE WAYNE A LOT.... HE IS VERY HELPFUL. I HAVE SENT A LOT OF MSERS TO HIM, SO I WAS HOPING THAT HE WAS DOING THE LDN RIGHT. I DIDN'T KNOW THAT THE P.C. WAS ON DR BAHARI'S WEB SITE, BUT I HAD SENT A LETTER TO THEM AND WAS HOPING THAT THEY WOULD. I DID ASK WAYNE TO CHANGE FROM CORN STARCH FILLER TO CALCIUM CONSENTRATE.....I HOPE THAT HELPS......I HAVE BEEN A LITTLE BOUND UP AND THOUGHT IT MIGHT BE THE CORN...LOL...AND A LITTLE EXTRA CALCIUM COULDN'T HURT. I HOPE YOU DON'T MIND MY SENDING THIS TO THE LDN POST.... AS I WANT THEM TO BE AWARE AS WELL ABOUT THE PRESCRIPTION BEING ON THE WEB SITE NOW. THANKS SO MUCH FOR YOU HELP FOR ALL OF US.....KEEP POSTING ANY MORE HELPFUL INFO...OR JUST TO TELL US HOW YOU ARE DOING. GOD BLESS YOU AND HUGS SALLY ----- Original Message ----- From: debtim1095 I had my LDN made in Eau Wisconsin and was very stiff for like 3 months. I had a new prescription from my docotr and sent it to The Prescription Center in LaCrosse and it was like a night and day difference. The Prescription Center is on Dr. Bihari's website as one who knows how to compound the LDN. And I for one have seen the difference in good and bad LDN and Wayne at the Prescription Center is doing it right.Debbie_K ************************************************************** This message was scanned by the Avast Anti-Virus Gateway **************************************************************

Guest guest
I was hoping to find out does anyone one know what is the lowest dose of LDN to take? I would like to know. Also I did hear the lower you go doesn't mean the less effective and some of us have to stay on the lowest and not go back up. Each is different but ask your doctor. But what I did understand its like homeopathy in this case. Only a small amount is needed. In homeopathy the amounts are small, and more diluted the better. Hope I can get your input on what is the smallest amount any of you are using? Guest guest
The correct doseages are between 1.75 and 4.5. Any lower or higher would be ineffective per Dr. Bahari. ----- Original Message ----- From: wordww@... But what I did understand its like homeopathy in this case. Only a small amount is needed. In homeopathy the amounts are small, and more diluted the better.Hope I can get your input on what is the smallest amount any of you are using?MiraOn Saturday, Aug 9, 2003, at 08:35 US/Central, Marie Deady wrote:> Hi Sally,> So sorry to hear that you are not feeling good. Guest guest
Thank you Mira.....I was happy to find out that my pharmacy is now on Dr. Bahari's Site...so, even though I would love to talk to Dr. Bahari...I now don't feel the need. But I do love to hear what he tells you and his other patients. My LDN Doc is super nice, but admits he doesn't know a lot about MS or LDN....but thank God, my compounder, Wayne Loveland does know about LDN. Guest guest
Thanks Guy. Yes heat and humidity really kicks butt here in Ohio too... I'm sure that I'll be much better once the weather changes for the better.... Love and Hugs Sally ----- Original Message ----- From: Guy Du Monte Sally, I'm here in sunny and dry So Cal. With the heat, LDN does not seem to work as well for me either. In July, we had some really nasty humidity, and it just kicked my butt!! I think the weather and temperature really have a lot to do with how well us MSers feel. I usually get the proper sleep, but I too still smoke. One of these days???? Hang in there, and hope for cooler weather. I think that will make us all feeel just a little better. Hope this helps.
