Guest guest
Well congrats on the phone appt with DR. Sullivan. Sure hoping all works out well for you....please keep us informed of what happens ok? As far as what LDN has done for me...well I am not one of those that has any symptom relief from it. I went into the whole thing hoping it would halt the progression and if that is what it does I am a happy camper. The main objective is to avoid attacks cuz that is where the damage occurs...so no new attacks no further disability is the way I look at it. Good luck and please report back. Joyce. Guest guest
I felt an improvement almost immediately. Fatigue went away first. My general feeling of well being improved almost immediately. Both of those factors might be attributed to the increase in endorphins (which may also help with depression). About a week to ten days after starting LDN my sense of balance returned. That was a major break through. I can now dance again (with out fear of falling! Last winter I tried to cross country ski and had great difficulty staying right side up. I had strength enough but very poor balance. My major remaining symptoms are numbness in hands and feet and a little remaining stiffness in my legs and hands. The stiffness is slowly decreasing all the time. I would (for MS) suggest one get a prescription of 1.5 MG capsules and then start by taking two a night (for 3MG). That way you can go down to 1.5 MG if necessary or up to 4.5 MG if and when you can handle it. LDN appears to give people with MS leg stiffness at least in the beginning. One can lower the dose to reduce the stiffness. 4.5 MG is considered the best dose level but many people do well at 3 MG and even as low as 1.5 MG. These are just my opinions and suggestions. I know little to nothing about medicine, that is what we pay doctors for (an sometimes hopefully get in return). Original Message: ----------------- From: feeltherathe feeltherathe@... Guest guest
Interesting. Last Christmas I did a week long XC ski trip with my fiance and I couldn't ski either! after skiing all my life, I couldn't stand up for longer than a minute. My strength was there but no balance. I can still dance w/o falling, but skiing is a thing of the past. LDN has not been that dramatic with symptom reversal with me. Are you on 4.5mg or 3mg? Guest guest
HI DAVID, HAPPY FOR YOUR IMPROVEMENTS.....I TOO HAVE MUCH IMPROVED BALANCE AND I LOVE BEING ABLE TO STRAIGHTEN AND WIGGLE TOES. STILL USING WALKER, BUT WAS READY FOR WHEEL CHAIR, SO I AM HAPPY WITH WHAT GOD GAVE ME...NOT COMPLAINING, AND I JUST FEEL BETTER ALL OVER. I AM STILL ON PAXIL, SO I DON'T KNOW ABOUT LDN HELPING DEPRESSION, BUT I WOULD BET IT DOES.
