Guest guest
Hi Tom, Finally, someone my age...lol.....I was dx with MS in 1976, and was then in remission till 92, when I had a major exacerbation, of which I've never fully recovered. From there I went into spms and have been progressing very slowly (If only I had had LDN then). I am still walking with a walker and I will say that LDN has saved me from a wheel chair. I was just ready to order one when LDN came along. So that's where I am right now, still hoping that LDN will do just a little more......I am a bit discouraged that it hasn't, and perhaps I still have to find the right doseage for me. I've bounced back and forth between 3mg and 4.5...on 4.5 now, and still not comfortable, so I am trying approximately 4mg for the last two days to see if that's it??? I am not against vitamins or herbs. I take them myself, but just not "megavitamins". It has been proven that some at high doses are harmful, so I just stick to the approved doses. Your investigation and findings help us all.....I don't take cranberry extract, but I do drink cranberry juice every day, and have had no urinary tract infections since...and I used to have many, and now allergic to all the sulfa drugs....so cranberry has saved me so far. Thank you for your response and your helpful insite into the question of the vitamins-herbs. I just want all to be careful, as there are still a lot of snakeoil salesmen out there who don't really have our best interest at heart, and we ms'ers are easy prey. Best Regards Sally Hi Sally, I was diagnosed in 1984. Since that time I have been taking a significant amount of supplements. My neurologist at the Lahey Clinic has always been aware of this. I am 61 yrs. old and have done very well all these years. I have never had eye problems, sex problems, urinary problems. I have had a walking problem but that is fairly recent. I am thoroughly convinced that the reason I have done well is due in large part to these supplements. I am certainly not advocating the reckless use of supplements. However, with the proper knowledge there is no doubt of their value. For example, there is proof of the value of "Cranberry Extract" for the urinary tract. There is also proof of the value of "Lutein" and :Bilberry" for our eyes. The important thing is to do your homework and find out about these things. I looked into "LDN" for six months before starting it. Dr. Bihari advised me to keep taking the supplements and said that they would not interfere with the "LDN". Guest guest
Sally Don't worry in my case my body doesn't absorb or keep any of the minerals and vitamins I take from food or at times even by mouth. So my doctors have me take them through a port or liquid form. I also have to check my blood and take tests frequently to check the levels of minerals and others in my system. I am in touch with the doctors all the time. I did not suggest anyone take my amounts. I am just a very different case. But pls. dont think I am suggesting anyone to take anything that isn't checked by their doctor or in the amounts their doctors prescribe. Wobenzyme is just an enzyme and not suggested to replace but suppliment with LDN. sorry for the missunderstanding mira On Tuesday, Aug 12, 2003, at 23:00 US/Central, Sally wrote: > HI ALL, I AM JUST A LITTLE WORRIED FOR ALL OF YOU, WHEN YOU TALK OF > YOUR HIGH DOSES OF VITAMINS AND HERBS. > > SOME OF THEM CAN BE HARMFUL AT HIGH DOSES, FOR INSTANCE " K " AND " C " , > AND MANY OTHERS.
