Guest guest
The proof is in all the people on this forum who are experiencing symptom improvement and no more exacerbations. Wake up, Jeff!
Guest guest
When it comes to drugs, most docs can't possibly know about all of them so they look up the info in various reference manuals that list the many drugs, the studies done on them and all the info known about them. Any doc looking for published info on how LDN effects MS won't find much, if anything. That's because there aren't any formal trials done involving LDN and MS. Dr. Bihari has worked the most with LDN and MS but all of his info is anecdotal, that is the results are obtained from non clincial trial methods. And most docs are loathe to recognize this kind of info when it comes to drugs. Dr. Bihari has pleaded for some drug company to step forward and conduct these clinical trials. But because LDN isn't protected by patent any longer, the cost vs the possible income isn't attractive and we know how the $$$$ signs have to be large and multiple before any drug company becomes interested! That doesn't mean for one minute that LDN isn't having a beneficial effect on many MS patients but that the normal standards of scientific proof don't yet exist. You will hear some people say that " who cares about scientific proof, it isn't needed " ! Well, perhaps not for the user who is getting some great benefit but in this world of possible litigation, nobody can come out and say LDN definitely works on MS. You have to be able to prove that. In the meantime, there are a handful of docs that will prescribe LDN and many people appear to be obtaining a lot of benefit from it as far as stopping the progression of their MS. But so far, only a small fraction of MS patients know anything about it and the info comes from other users and certainly not the docs. Not the greatest situation but that, unfortunately, is how our medical system works most of the time!
