Beats me! LDN helped me a lot more than I ever imagined. My worst symptoms are gone.. over 3 months now.

Ideally one would start with 4.5, and it has been suggested to ask for the pills in 1.5 capsules, that way you can take 2 for 3.0 and 3 for 4.5, if you have a script for 4.5 you can make your own decision.

Personally, I think if you're under 25 BMI http://www.nhlbi.nih.gov/guidelines/obesity/bmi_tbl.htm you may consider 3.0, or start with 4.5 which is the recommended dose, but drop down to 3.0 if 4.5 doesn't seem to be working right.

I made my decision based on my BMI being 23-24, short, and a fast metabolism (well, it used to be) that all I would need is 3.0 and that's what I asked for. I should have asked for 4.5 in 1.5 caps.. maybe I'll do that next time... even if I stay with 3.0, they'll last a lot longer!!!

That's the sole intent of LDN, to stop further progression. Everything else is up to the body.
