Someone wanted to know if some of us who does not have Multiple

Sclorosis have experienced leg cramps, or muscle twitching so I will

tell you how it was for me. I have permanent hypothyroidism and

multiple back problems, chronic pain and a diagnosis of fibromyalgia

which affects muscles, tendons and ligaments. Our bodies hurt from

head to toe all the time.

I started 4.5 mg fast-acting low dose Naltrexone about the third of

April.

Within two weeks I had muscles twitches in my legs and arms. It

didn't hurt. It was more of an aggrivation than pain. I started

taking more calcium and more magnesium because it is a known fact

that fibro-people do not have enough magnesium. It helped some.

The biggest relief was the total body pain which eased up within

three days.

I had my doctor prescribe 3 mg of LDN for the next month. After a

few days on 3 mg my muscles stopped twitching so often. I never did

experience what some people call " charlie horse " symptoms, just some

muscle jumps and jerks.

Now, if I drink too much caffine (coffee) I can still get some muscle

twitching. I think I wash out my electolytes and potassium with too

much coffee. I make a bananna, fresh apple, and fruit cocktail drink

in my blender for a morning drink and that helps with muscle

twitching.

I have been on 3 mg but I am thinking of going to 3.5 mg after my

next check-up. I liked my energy level on 4.5 mg but I felt kind of

hyper all the time. And of course my muscles jerked and jumped.

This morning I woke up with a left-eye tick. A tiny twitch near the

left eye which continued all morning. It quit about an hour ago.

I do not know if the dosage has anything to do with muscle twitching

or if it a period of adjustment to LDN. In my case I would rather

put up with a few muscle jerks than be off the LDN. It could be that

we are starting to use muscles that have been dormant or that in some

way on a cellular level our bodies are healing. I don't think it is

anything to be overly concerned about; unless for MS people it is

overly painful. I had muscle twitching long before I started LDN, I

think I just became more aware of them in the past three months.

Does this sound familiar to anyone? Mymisspriss
