Guest guest
I'm not a doctor, I realize, but I've got to share my personal opinion with you. I don't believe it's the LDN.. The reason I say this is based on my experiences beginning last year. Last October, after having taken several Novantrone chemo treatments for my MS, I got a urinary tract infection. I was in the hospital for 4 days and after that, I was in bed for several weeks, but I eventually got back to normal (as normal as I was). Soon after, I got an ear infection and that sent me on a downward spiral that I 've still not recovered from. I ended up with bells palsey and mono after the ear infection. I've never recoverd from the bells palsey. It's just amazing how infections, ones that we used to easily get over, now impact MS so traumatically! I wasn't taking LDN at the time so it wasn't LDN that made me so sick during that time. I'm taking LDN now and after doseage adjustments, I feel better. And, I might be wrong by doing this, but when I'm sick or extremely stressed and overly fatigued, I increase my dose back to 4.5 mg. for a period of time. .. -----Original Message-----From: jacqueoling [mailto:jacqueoling@...]Sent: Thursday, July 17, 2003 3:53 PMlow dose naltrexone Subject: [low dose naltrexone] 5 weeks nowHello Everyone!I have been reading your emails for over 5 weeks now, and I am so happy to hear so many are having wonderful results with the LDN. I began the LDN at 4.5 mg on June 8th. After 3 weeks on 4.5, Dr. Bihari reduced it to 3mg. During this time, I also became ill with an ear infection, sinusitis, and bronchitis. Unfortunately, over the past 5 weeks, I have had worsening of my MS symptoms (the worst I have had in 8 years). By the way, I was diagnosed 8 years ago with RRMS, and was on Betaseron for 7 years. I saw my chiropractor yesterday and he suggested that my body was having an adverse reaction to the LDN, and that I should stop taking it for at least a couple of weeks and then try again. I would appreciate any suggestions any of you have. I will be talking to Dr. Bihari soon.Hugs & Smiles - Jacque
