Guest guest
Cathie, Personnally I don't like this Dr. Phil, and I don't watch any of his shows...so I can't speak as to what was shown on his program today....but my soon to be 19y/o college son did deal with rage (which is frequently caused from being out of their comfort zones, which causes axienty, and whatever gray area AS children don't understand). He doesn't have it anymore, because he learned how to prevent rage from coming about. Most of the AS children we have dealt with, and in working with parents, have (rage) melt down events even with medications. Once they learn how to work thru difficult times, these episodes frequently disappear. Now I'm not speaking for majority of AS children or adults, just with the ones we have worked with in our comm. At this point in our sons life he no longer has the Dx of AS/OCD. The Drs. at U of M Ann Arbor Hosp. feel he no longer qualtifies for this Dx. He is totally on his own at college (9hrs. away), has a very social life, and even dates. Though right now I don't think all that much (not that many girls in the college he's at) he feels getting his degree in mech. engineering is more important at this time. I thank God everyday, and pray he con't to do well. Connie T.
