Guest guest
Hi There, I have to say my sister had from a long time skin problems, much long before being Dx with MS. We' ve never liked that kind of thing that she was never able to remove. It is something like an herpes or a fungus or eczema..we don't know! However, this problem didn't change since she started LDN about 3 months ago. I am finding very interesting some of you have the same problem. I am really concern about some documentations that say a kind of herpes HHV-6 can be the cause of MS. You can find a lot of docs about this on the net searching...for example: http://www.suite101.com/article.cfm/251/12033 Does anyone knows more about this? Does anyone have a longer experience with herpes or any other skin problem and LDN after a long time? Does anyone understand if it is easy to detect the presence of this herpes HHV-6 and how easy is to get rid of it? I was wondering if, as suggested by http://goodshape.net/Supplements.html the use of some antivirals such as Olive Leaf Extract, could help!! Ok, so it is possible that I'm noticing it more than previous yearsbecause of LDN? Interesting! I'm not sure though... it doesn't look muchworse than I usually get in the summer months... but maybe it is. So do you use Lubriderm or any other lotion? Larry, I have the same thing going on. years ago a dermatologist told meexzema. I have noticed it has been a little worse since starting the LDN. With me, it comes and goes, no pattern, no apparent trigger. If the LDN IScausing it, guess I'll just have to live with it. Guest guest
This is a very interesting document about Herpes, their mutations and complications: Not everyone carrying an herpes is aware of it and there are not easy way to detect them. http://www.eff.org/~mech/Scritti/herpescure.txt It is quite updated and even mentioning Naltrexone.Want to chat instantly with your online friends? Guest guest
Hi Massimo, Herpes has always had a bad name, but actually a herpes virus causes chicken pox, shingles, mononucliosis etc....and there has been talk of it being the cause of ms, no deffinative proof though. Nobody knows nuttin for sure. Your Sister probably had ms long before her dx though, so the skin problems could still be ms related in her case, as well. I do take the antiviral Amantadine....I like it....it cuts down on the colds and shortens the length of colds, if you do get one.....it is supposed to help with fatigue, as well. I don't know how you would detect herpes virus in the body, but I'm sure the med. profession can....getting rid of it may be a problem though...I think it is one of those germs that lies dormant, in your body, and pops it's ugly head when it wants to. I hope this helps and Love to you and your dear Sister. ~Sally > > I for one have had no skin problems either before MS (way back when ever) > with MS or with LDN.
