Guest guest
I believe the color has to do with the filler they use. Irmat asked me if I was allergic to milk or lactose because they use a certain filler with the LDN>All should ask their pharmacy what is used with their capsule. Guest guest
Mine, both 3 mg and 4.5 capsules look alike - they contain white fine powder - not a distinct odor. I get mine from Irmat pharmacy in New York. I'm not sure what to suggest to you except that you might want to check with Dr. Bihari (off the website) to see what he thinks. On the website, a new article discusses problems with some compounding pharmacies. I'll be interested in hearing what others have to say about the appearance and smell of the content of their capsules. -----Original Message-----From: mymisspriss19472000 [mailto:mymisspriss19472000@...]Sent: Tuesday, July 29, 2003 1:40 PMSubject: [low dose naltrexone] What color is your 3 mg LDN inside the capsule? This might sound like a dumb question but what is the color and texture of your 3 mg LDN medication? Mine is a dark pink and very fine, powder-like. It smells--well, like a harsh medication and is bitter. On 4.5 mg from another pharmacy the texture was grain-like and kind of had a sparkle. If I mixed it with water it didn't taste very bitter and dissolved easily. I was assured that the 3 mg LDN was fast-acting from the second compounding pharmacy.Does anyone know why there is such a diference? I just read the article about some compounding pharmacies are not the same in how LDN is compounded. Sometimes I wonder just what I am getting from my second pharmacy. I wonder if I should go back to the first pharmacy even though it is more expensive. The first one fills more LDN prescriptions. With this second one I am the only person they do this prescription for. I thought the LDN was affecting me the same way from each pharmacy, but I tried some of my LDN from the other pharmacy and I think that today I feel just somewhat better than usual. (More energy, less depression.) I am a bit confused and want the best LDN I can get. Do you think I should go back to my origional compounder? Thanks all.
