Guest guest
Nope. No interest in it. Normally one takes 10 mg? But they're talking about 80 mg for MS patients? I like the 50 MG original usage vs 3 or 4.5 MG for MS. I like LDN because it's not overdosing me on anything. I figured I probably inhale/eat more than 3 MG of pollutants each day, so 3 MG LDN was a pretty good bet. I'm still amazed how this little pill can do all it's doing for me. ----- Original Message ----- From: " mabell27962 " <mabell11@...> <low dose naltrexone > Sent: Wednesday, September 03, 2003 22:54 Subject: [low dose naltrexone] Statins for M.S. > I read about the Statin Drugs being used on mice on the Harvard > Mancer Board " Brain Talk Communities " . Guest guest
> Hi, I was on Lipitor for high cholesterol and Dr's told me if I started leg pain or discomfort, let them know ASAP. I also read that they're researching it with mice to see if it works for MS. From what I understand the mice in this study were injected with something to paralyze their legs and then placed on Statin Drugs. You can find a report on this if you go to http://www.captainclark.com/pages/jamareport.html My M.S. Specialist told me he wanted to put me on Lipitor for my M.S. but couldn't do it unless my cholesterol was high, so he sent me to get my cholesterol checked. I was on Lipitor a month before it started making my legs so weak I could hardly hold myself up with my walker. When I went back to my G. P. he told me I didn't need the Statin Drugs because my Cholesterol had dropped below 200, that my LDL was still a little high but that I could easily lower that with my diet. I stopped the Lipitor because of the leg weakness. When I told my M.S. Specialist I had stopped them he Said, " I want you on them! " He wrote me and my G.P. a letter saying He wanted me on them because of the M.S. and that Lipitor was " my drug of choice " - He never gave me a choice! He also said they are just now going into " Human Trials " with it for M.S. He can find another human for his trials and I'll find another Doctor. Go to the website I posted and see what it did to those mice. Would you want to try it?
Guest guest
I am thinking of trying Soloray Red Yeast Rice supplement, it is a natural Zocor replacement w/o the side effects. The Zocor side effects look very rough, like muscle weakness!
Guest guest
Do NOT take STATINS for anything - not even high cholesterol!! They cause cancer and they deplete the CoQ10 your heart needs to function (how ironic - lower your cholesterol and increase your risk of heart attack). What good would it be to POSSIBLY help your MS with these drugs and then die from cancer or heart attack?
